Sesame Street puppeteer Jerry Nelson – creator of dozens of characters on Sesame Street, The Muppet Show and Fraggle Rock including arithmomaniac vampire Count Von Count, Sherlock Hemlock, Herry Monster and Fat Blue – died at his Cape Cod home on Thursday night aged 78.
He had been suffering from emphysema for several years.
