Dublin indie guitar supremos The Dinah Brand (Top) play a free gig in the newly sprung Bloody Marys bar on South William Street in the capital on Saturday night.
Support comes from Oh Boland and Johnson.
Formed from former members of Pet Lamb, Jackbeast and Legion Of Two, The Dinah Brand’s 2019 album Thank You Driver was a hit with the critics.
Their most recent video (above) was directed by Brendan Talbot.

Produced and directed by Conor Ryan, it’s a whimsical tale that complements the song’s smooth groove.

The new video by Moon Looks On – Sligo’s Stephen Gormley (top) and friends – captures the capital in all its nocturnal splendour.
Stephen is a graduate of the BIMM music school and has joined forces with fellow musicians Aisling Bridgeman, Jack Hussey, Jack Bird, Laura Ryder and Matilda O’Mahony for this project.
Having played at last year’s Glastonbury Festival, Moon Looks On release their debut album later this year.

Calling all 1980s music fans.
I (‘sheet Music Editor) am offering you the chance to win TWO (count ’em) tickets to the Forever Young festival which takes place from July 5-7 in Palmerstown House, near Naas, County Kildare.

Writer Nick Kelly has taken over the long-vacant post of Broadsheet‘s Music Editor overseeing the contemporary recording and live music scene in Ireland and ‘abroad’ and bagsing the good office beanbag chair.
Nick has been a music journalist for 25 years, starting off in Hot Press magazine in the mid-90s, before writing for The Times (UK), Billboard, The Sunday Tribune, The Irish Examiner and most recently as a rock columnist with the Irish Independent.
Nick’s duties will include new acts (details to Nick at broadsheet@broadsheet.ie), administering Bodger’s shots, upcoming concerts and the daily ‘You May Like This strand.

I’m thrilled to announce that my first feature film is about to be released in Irish cinemas. The story of unlikely friendship between a rock’n’roll drummer with Bipolar disorder and a young goalkeeper with Aspergers Syndrome, “The Drummer And The Keeper” premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh in July, where it won Best Irish First Feature.
