A few choice examples from Chris Stever and Jane de Rosa’s Zombie Gnomes collection. The pieces (with adorable names like ‘Legless Larry’ and ‘Gertrude Guts’) cost around €45 each and take 5/6 weeks to mail out due to demand, but check out the backstory:

Something bad has happened in the garden. The once happy garden gnomes have been infected by a strange virus which has turned them into flesh eating monsters. There are only a few survivors left who are desperately trying to stay alive.

Aw.

Project S.E.R.A: an action/horror short from Ben Howdeshell starring Julia Voth. Howdeshell worked as assistant editor on Resident Evil: Extinction and Afterlife so it’s a bit derivative, but still very impressive: from the mighty bullet time opening sequence to the final shoot-out.

Short Film ‘Project S.E.R.A.’: ’28 Days Later’ Meets ‘Resident Evil’ (Screenrant)

A thoughtful and evocative zommer, this. Not your typical brain-hunt gore-fest.

“Rest,” is the story of a young American soldier who dies in WW1 and ninety years later unearths himself from a grave in the European countryside. Shot over the course of a week in Mendocino County, Morongo Valley and New York City, the film is a dark, but beautiful meditation on a wayward soul’s pursuit of peace.

Directed by Cole Shreiber.
