Zombie In A Penguin Suit – a 7-minute short by Chris Russell starts out with an absurd premise but goes on to tug at the heartstrings (with a reanimated finger).
There’s gore and the odd fright, but aficionados of the zombie genre will be impressed with the high-end production, not to mention the unexpected empathy elicited by the undead hero. Well worth watching.
Deviant Artist TranzorZ3D‘s zombie Homer. He’s also done a ‘regular’ Homer which is not nearly as impressive.
Deep Silver’s first-person zombie action game Dead Island, released earlier this month after this viral promo garnered over ten million Youtube hits, has already had its movie rights optioned, as announced by Lionsgate motion picture group president Joe Drake.
“This is exactly the type of property we’re looking to adapt at Lionsgate – it’s sophisticated, edgy, and a true elevation of a genre that we know and love. It also has built in brand recognition around the world, and franchise potential,” Drake said in a statement.
You see? Braiiiiins.
Lionsgate Developing ‘Dead Island’ Zombie Pic (Hollywood Reporter)
Written and directed by Clement Deneux, shot in four days for $8000 and entered in this short film competition, Zombin Laden is a fake trailer for the film we all want to see: whereby the corpse of Osama Bin Laden, reanimated by Coca Cola, rises from the dead to terrorise a small French island resort.
Matt Mogk, founder of the Zombie Research Society, wrote a delightful children’s book called That’s Not Your Mommy Anymore. It teaches children how to recognize a zombie outbreak and take steps to protect themselves. Think of it like Night of the Living Dead meets Doctor Seuss.
