Robotics pioneer and erstwhile gimmicky car-maker Honda has added a new dimension to its Asimo humanoid robot project: exoskeleton legs for humans. Naturally, there are myriad medical, engineering and military applications.

But it’s not a great look for the able-bodied.

Results of Ireland’s highly watched bond auction are out, and the news is double-edged.
Yes, Ireland did get €1bn of 2018 and €500m of 2014 bonds sold, but the country had to pay handsomely to get the debt away. The yield on the 2018 issue came in at an average 6.023 per cent, while the average on the 2014 issue was 4.767 per cent.

This massive spider web in Madagascar was woven by Darwin’s bark spider, a recently-discovered arachnid that uses its incredibly-strong silk, ten times tougher than Kevlar, to make the world’s largest webs. These spiders are known to make orb webs in Andasibe-Mantadia National Park up to 2.8 meters square anchored by 25-meter threads.
