Clearly based on the original Ricky Gervais comedy faux-doc ‘The Ministry’ – set at the Ministry of Garbage – features a sleepy security guard, an underappreciated butler, a man-hating secretary and bumbling Minister.
The show is shot in the same way “The Office” is, using what appears to be a single-camera set up and the look of an actual documentary.
But “The Ministry” trailer indicates that the show will tackle deeper issues than “The Office” does, including the rampant corruption problem in the country. At one point in the trailer, the secretary lists off the needs of Parliament members to the minister: one wants 10 security vans, another wants him to authorize his drug trafficking business, and a third wants him to hire all his cousins.
Afghan version of ‘The Office’ coming soon to ToloTV (Washington Post)
