The Office never leaves him.

A re-do of last Sunday’s The Week In Politics on RTÉ 1 where – to the horror of all present, especially independent TD Mick Wallace – Fianna Fail’s Stephen Donnelly TD MBA, channeled the ghost of David Brent from BBC 1’s The Office.

You’re not looking at the whole pie, Jenny.

A Hobbit/The Office mashup from Saturday Night Live. To wit:

After saving Middle-earth, Bilbo (Martin Freeman), Gandalf (Bobby Moynihan), Gollum (Taran Killam), Legolas (Kyle Mooney) and Tauriel (Kate McKinnon) take up office jobs.

Do you care for the recently-ended The (American) Office at all?

Do you favour the out-takes genre?

Do you have the guts of two hours to spare for all the bloopers from series 2-8?

You remember the Dallas opening titles, right? You’ve always wondered how it would be if the US version of The Office started that way, haven’t you?

Of course you have.

Clearly based on the original Ricky Gervais comedy faux-doc ‘The Ministry’ – set at the Ministry of Garbage – features a sleepy security guard, an underappreciated butler, a man-hating secretary and bumbling Minister.

The show is shot in the same way “The Office” is, using what appears to be a single-camera set up and the look of an actual documentary.

But “The Ministry” trailer indicates that the show will tackle deeper issues than “The Office” does, including the rampant corruption problem in the country. At one point in the trailer, the secretary lists off the needs of Parliament members to the minister: one wants 10 security vans, another wants him to authorize his drug trafficking business, and a third wants him to hire all his cousins.
