St Manchan’s Shrine, an intricate bronzework, was stolen this afternoon.

Suspicions were raised about a car that was seen in the area, travelling between Boher and Shannonbridge. Two males were subsequently arrested on the M5 at Ronanstown, Co Dublin, and were taken into custody.

The men are being transported back to Tullamore Garda Station for questioning in relation to the theft.

Saw this sign up when walking through the Royal Hospital Kilmainham
just now.

I remember last year there was a problem with one day ticket holders
on Saturday (of which I was one) not being allowed re-entry on the day
if they left the grounds.

This was changed on the Sunday after hundreds of people left on
Saturday because of the 2hr bar queues, and weekend ticket holders got
an armband to allow them access as they pleased.

They’ve avoided answering the question directly on their Facebook I’ve
noticed, but it looks like this year there will be no armbands and no
one will be allowed re-entry.

Just thought people might like to know the situation.
