My friend Zélie did some wall art in our back garden using spray paints. Where else would you get Ben Bulben in a Monet? Only in the East Wall! It’s a shame that it’s not visible to the public.
The next best thing would be a shout out from Broadsheet. Zélie is in hospital at the moment in France and we think it would cheer her up to see her work and the faces of her former house mates and friends on public display. Yeah, well record Corrie then.

Katie Taylor with her dad Peter (right) will be interviewed by Eoin McDevitt (second left) on Newstalk’s cheese-free sports show, Off The Ball, at 7.25pm. Unidentified hottie in the green is unidentified.

The extraordinary mixed media ‘assemblages‘ of American artist Kris Kuksi – dark, fractal intricacies reminiscent of the work of HR Giger:

According to Kuksi’s artist statement :

Kris Kuksi garners recognition and acclaim for the intricate sculptures that result from his unique and meticulous technique. A process that requires countless hours to assemble, collect, manipulate, cut, and re-shape thousands of individual parts, finally uniting them into an orchestral-like seamless cohesion that defines the historical rise and fall of civilization and envisions the possible future(s) of humanity.

Kuksi’s work is currently exhibiting at the Joshua Liner Gallery in NYC

You can see what agency creatives at DDB&CO Istanbul had in mind with this World Wildlife Fund ad.

There’s another version with a vulture where the message is much clearer.

They’re saying that the world would be a more horrifying place without sharks.

But you’re just hearing an ostinato of bass notes.

So Todd Akin (above) is a bit of a fool right? Believes the human body will
reject pregnancy in the case of a legitimate rape.

Thinks it’s so rare that there is no need legislating for it?

According to this, the chances of a rape resulting in pregnancy is 5% so not that rare really. So, you would have to be a bit strange to believe what Akin believes, right?

No one in Ireland would seriously think that, surely?

Oh.

“When I joined the Irish Independent in 1973, having worked five years on the ‘Sunday Independent’ both papers had clear editorial principles largely set by two good editors and an outstanding chief executive, now forgotten, Bartle Pitcher.

We, the journalists working for them, knew where we were going and what the papers stood for, including conservative Catholic beliefs, now understandably modified, the interest of wealth and productivity together with a still widespread support of honesty and integrity in public life.

All of those things should be and will be restored.”

Bruce Arnold, above, in a column defending Denis O’Brien and attacking the publishing career of Vincent Browne in today’s Irish Independent. (unavailable online).

Bone-chilling.

Previously: Et Tu, Bruce?

Oh, go on then.

We’d like to see you try it at Barbra Streisand.
