Meh
Go hAna meh ar fad.

UNREAL!
Love this, good luck to them
I like this idea, just stick the hype up your proverbial.
“94,000” ….pfffft! ….the official figure is barely 70,000 and that’s already said to be a big stretch.
But so what? And what’s ‘using it in their day to day lives’? I use it every day but i’m far from fluent. Anyway, big picture, Clampers.
Because when a group claims that the people in it are all speaking Irish for the majority of their day, they then claim that they are being ignored and the bigger the group the more weight their complaint carries and in the end funds get redirected from more important needs rather than satisfying some gaelgoirís
…I hit send early… anyway… I’m sure Últach will be along in a minute to give me an earful :)
Where’s the majority of their day thing? They used a broad comment that could in principle be proven to be accurate. And it’s not like they’ve even doubled small figure you mentioned. I’d also hope that approval for any funding would not be based on App’s blurb.
I’ve very much torn between the pair of ye on this matter anyway.
Da da da daa dadaaa (meant to be a cavalry bugle type sound).
Pleased to oblige, Clampers. More funding please! Stop ignoring me! I speak the first national language all the time. In my sleep. I’m mentally translating this from Irish as I type. And I live in the occupied north east six counties. So there! There’s millions of us so please support us coz there’s no enough of us. Where’s me geansaí?
(Will that do? Can provide further gwayligoer stereotype material if needed)
Good man Últach, you’re a reasonable guy I’m sure ! We’re just on either side of this issue :)
sweet! I’m starting a beginner’s Irish course next month (I’m a bloody foreigner); this app will be handy.
Fair play to you Starina! Seriously.
Just don’t go putting down ‘fluent’ in the next CSO census :)
When will the next census be? Starina might have plenty of time to become fluent. I met a yank in Gaoth Dobhair last week who has been learning for two years and was very nearly fluent. Two or three years of classes and immersion are generally enough for committed adults to achieve fluency. Good luck to Starina and any other learners reading this. What about it Clampers, will you give it a go? We could be giving out to each other over on igaeilge.ie, nuacht24.com or antuairisceoir.com/ before long!
That of course directed at Mrs clampers above
