Ah here.

Further to An Post’s nod to the cat demographic.

DeSelby writes:

“…In an effort to appeal to a generation that has never sent a letter in their lives, the ashen faced members of An Post’s Philatelic Advisory Committee have forgone the usual ultra conservative tedium of illustrated landscapes and utterly lifeless stamp designs and have issued a series of stamps inspired by famous felines of ‘the internet’ …”

      I googled it.

Following reports that interpreted this to mean she was human, a Sanrio PR representative said that the organization had “never said she was a human”, explaining anthropomorphization by comparing the character to Mickey Mouse: “No one would mistake the Disney character for a human–but at the same time he’s not quite a mouse. Just like Hello Kitty isn’t a human, she’s not quite a cat either.”[3] Sanrio stated further, “Hello Kitty was done in the motif of a cat. It’s going too far to say that Hello Kitty is not a cat.”[1]

You’ve gone too far, Alan. Too. Far.

It’s obviously a fake: OP would be able to link to an official announcement somewhere if it were real. “Ginearálta Meow” is also a very bad translation.

“Cat Míshásta” gave me a huge laugh though – thank you.

Eh… your comment has baffled me. Are you wary of spoilers to Broadsheet posts?

If Broadsheet publish a story, and I come along and say “That’s b***s*** for reasons X, Y and Z”, will have spoiled your enjoyment of the original, wrong story?

Easy there Tom. In fairness it seemed like you thought the hello kitty grumpy cat stamps were a thing that Broadsheet were trying to pass off as a real thing that you had cleverly called BS on like you missed the post earlier where they showed the real actual cat stamps and then this was a skit on that and only a fupping gobsheen would think for a second that An Post had a Nyan Cat stamp out for jaysus sake wind in yer neck and arrange an appointment to get that sideways stick out of yer Swiss roll.
