A long time ago, before the peace process, I heard a suggestion that the solution for the north was that it detached from the rest of the island and floated away. Is that what it is supposed to resemble? Yeah, we lose Donegal, but I am sure we would survive.
We’d also lose, Cavan, Monaghan, Louth, Sligo, Leitrim maybe Meath and Westmeath (though no major loss on that last one, it can’t even be bothered to come up with its own name AND it contains Mullingar).
If you left Donegal in situ, nature, time and longshore drift would create a new North. And we would see that it was good.
See BULL WALL, Dublin.

‘Graffiti’? Ooh la de dah. Get a load of Poncey Mc Moneybags. Round our way we call them ‘wall painteys’
It does resemble another thing!
