In Ireland, canon law appears to trump s.7 of the Criminal Law Act 1997 though.
In Ireland it doesn’t really need saying. I think this sign might be defensively asserting something it wishes were true. Like the one on the road to Dublin that says “Naas: a nice place to shop”.
Thing is, it’s not true in Oklahoma…

The sad truth is- it may not be explicitly written but it is still the view of many in Ireland.
