They think the Skellig exit is bad no one tell them how they get onto the blaskets.

Did some yank’s family try and sue the Irish government after their son was killed on Skellig?
Ferret McGruber
Skellig is the scariest, most visitor unfriendly place I ever visited. The boat ride was a joke with most of the passengers (none of whom, on the boat I was on, provided with waterproofs) getting completely drenched. One guy ended up leaving the boat, teeth chattering, looking like he was in the first stages of hypothermia.
The island itself is horrendously dangerous with any visitor to the top being only inches from certain death at any moment. It’s only pure luck that more people haven’t been killed. Compared to other OPW sites where the most beautiful vistas are ruined by unnecessary health and safety, Skellig is the work of a madman. There will be more deaths on it, of that there is no doubt.
Mr. T.
Yeah they should have built Skellig better and closer to the coast or something.
Mr. T.
Jus sayin

Pretty inconsiderate of those reclusive monks to have built something so hard to get to.

It’s the potential 600ft skull smashing tumble down the the rocky hillside before finally drowning in the raging sea below I found most unappealing, apart from that I’d really recommend it to anyone who doesn’t suffer from vertigo.

Well its about to become a lot more popular when STAR WARS comes out. Americans will be flocking to visit.
Apparently the new young Jedi’s find Luke living there in exile. COOOL.
You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

The Caminito del Rey is terrifying.. but Cliffs of Moher are a doddle.
Mr. T.
I just looked that up. Jesus effing Christ.

The scariest thing about the cliffs of Moher is the price of admission charge. €6 to see a cliff. It’s disgusting how much we fleece tourists here.
Jess
Yup. Cliffs have been completely ruined since they build that visitors centre. My advice is go to doolin and get a boat tour. Its actually more expensive but you can see why youre paying
Spartacus
You don’t have to pay €6. That’s the (reasonable) fee for the car park. If you walk or cycle up there you don’t have to pay anything.
Anne
It’s per person in the car though.
For two of us it cost 12 there last year.
Remember thinking I shoulda gotten out before he parked up.. or thrown him off the cliffs for every penny he was worth. In retrospect like. haw haw.
Spartacus
I stand corrected Anne. I usually park near Doolin and walk the cliff path, not always as far south as Moher unless it’s a really nice day! Just had a look at the visitor website and I’m surprised to read the following, given that the cliff path is a well established right of way: “Visitors to the Cliffs of Moher may be asked to show their ticket during the visit, it is important to keep your ticket with you at all times. Walkers and cyclists to the Cliffs of Moher are asked to go to reception in the Visitor Centre to get admission tickets. Visitors without admission tickets will be asked to purchase a ticket at the Visitor Centre reception.” I hope they mean visitors *in* the visitor centre rather than visitors to the cliffs themselves!
Anne
Good tip, parking near Doolin.
I think they mean visitors to the cliffs themselves.
I think I recall someone standing at the base looking at the tickets too, so it would have made no odds getting out before the car was parked up. It’s an admission to go onto the Cliff as far as I know, they just wanna be sure and catch you when you’re parking up.
If there’s fleecing to be done, they’ll do it.
I’ve never come across is anywhere else – being charged to go on a cliff.
will-billy
lol. bet he was crap in the sack

The Caminito is adrenaline inducing for sure (I was only able to stick it for a few hundred metres before turning back), but it isn’t officially open to the public because stupid people. Let’s not allow the same mentality to restrict access to the Cliffs of Moher, Skelling Michael, or the Blaskets.

They’re *cliffs* and a remote island. What do people expect?
If you want to see it in complete, 100% safety, watch it on telly.
