Just shows how many irresponsible people there are in the country. They want everyone else to pay for their water usage.
Of course. That is all it’s about. Nothing to do with setting up massive quangos to suck tax payer’s money, nothing to do with the fears that control of Irish water will be sold off to a private company, nothing to do with the inability to pay yet another bill or the thought that this money will go straight out of the country to pay for private banking debt. You’ve hit the nail right on the head.
Why did I bother reading the myriad of articles written on the issue which gives voice to the issues above and many more when your steely eye can sum the whole thing up in 2 simplistic sentences.
+1 billion ABM
No. We just want you to pay for it. Seeing as how you’re so keen and all. Knock yourself out.
blah fukn blah.
change the record..
Nice try, shill lad.
I’d bet Phil Hogan’s interview earlier on Newstalk has added to the numbers that will be out in force tomorrow.

In fairness this is a lot more honest then the usual “water isn’t free”, the water charges having nothing to do with supplying water, as people hear seem to think, and everything to do with extracting more tax out of people to pay for the banking disaster..
On the contrary, I think most people are aware of that, and as you say, Philo seems to concede in this interview that it is indeed just another tax, while also saying water isn’t free etc. etc.
He certainly hasn’t done his party any favours in my opinion, and I think it’s not so much honesty, but more indifference combined with a complete disregard for the people of Ireland.
They all get very “honest” when they’re no longer running for election.
To Pablow & Co
I’m a long serving advocate of water charges
But why the ück Irish Water
Community water schemes have been running brilliantly for years why not extend that model
And why isn’t the intended meter secured on my own property. Or why can’t I arrange an installation myself
Irish Water is a 2 Billion yoyo scam. No need for it at all.

+300 litres
good call, in guinness . . . in fairness
The basic premise here seems to be……..I won’t pay, someone else can pick up my costs.
The underlying arguement is, a fool and his money are easily parted.
Are you a fool ? Are you saying we are fools ?
Aside from the rabble rousers and the tinfoil hat brigade, there are a few (hundred thousand) concerned people out there who dont want to get rid six ways from sunday.
Plain and simple.

Here Geoff.
Happy out to pay for the water I consume from the mains and the water I drain into the mains
Am I ück going to pay for the payroll pension pocket filling scam for the boys and their families and cronies.
Irish Water is a scam. From day one it was set up to be a gravy train for ünts now that political advisors, FAS n Rehab and the Banks and whatever yer having yerself have been found out.
