    Hi BS,
Last post ‘Cthulhu’s Call’ isn’t showing… that post and this one have a line of text under the posters name reading… “Screen Shot …and the date / time” which is unusual. This post shows, with that extra text…?

    Buggy mornin’ eh…

I once found a pike’s head on a the shore of Lough Ree. It was huge, but the only thing I had to measure it were tennis balls. It measured more than four tennis balls from the tip of its nose (snout? face?) to just behind the eyes. That doesn’t sound very dramatic, but line up four tennis balls, extrapolate probable fish dimensions and see how you feel.
It made me very nervous about lake swimming.

When I used to go fishing in Cavan lakes with my grandfather I regularly saw other fishermen catching pike around 5-6 feet long (but usually closer to 5). They’re scary buggers but like most predators they avoid humans.
I was rubbish at fishing, anything bigger than a perch caused panic attacks.
