I’ve never found my name / exact address on the register, but I’ve always received my voting card…. hmmm.
Always better to be sure your registered – the system is screwed up. I know of dead people still receiving polling cards. You never know when a particular office might get their heads together and do a spring clean however!
Had someone claiming to be from Dublin City Council calling round to the house (Dublin 9) yesterday checking that the register was correct.
He wouldn’t show any identification, but he did wave his clipboard at me as if that was sufficient evidence as to who he worked for.
When I politely explained that I was happy that we were on the register, he got pretty irate and insisted on trying to get me to confirm that I was the person named on his list associated with that house.
I’m sure it’s above board, but all seemed a bit dodgy.
Had that myself a few months back
Where does it say posting the form is free of charge?
Here it is & more useful info:

Third party website rather than a state agency means I’d still be very wary about assuming its freepost.
Here’s Dublin County Council’s website:

It says similar on all County Council websites!

lol
If I’m registered in my home county, do I just need to do a change of address or apply to the supplementary register for the next vote?
You can use the Supplementary Change of Address (RFA3)!

Great! Thanks!
