See you there.
So it’s now the Non Payment Network ?
Aren’t they at risk of running out of names for themselves ?
They
And the IW crowd
Can call it what they like
I’m still not paying
I find your haiku-style of writing quite original and pleasant.
Will be attending.
Already pay for water, not paying again.
Oh, we’re doing this again ?
We don’t already pay for water….
Yes we do. The government just don’t spend the money they collect to maintain the water network on what they say they will.
Therefore I will not be paying again.
These lads must have lots of spare time to be heading off for walks around the city shouting and generally disrupting city life!
Can we be a bit scientific about the crowd estimation in advance of the predictable row about turnout
“March to the Dail”
Assume: Kildare st or Molesworh street as assembly points (or both if enough people)
What are the dimensions of those streets?
Definitions*:
A loose crowd, one where each person is an arm’s length from the body of his or her nearest neighbors, needs 10 square feet / 0.9m sq per person.
Tightly packed crowd fills 4.5/0.4m sq square feet per person.
Mosh-pit density would get about 2.5 /0.2m sq square feet per person.
To figure out the max. crowd that can be occupying the space, divide area of street by each of the density figures.
So if we have a max size of say 10,000 tightly packed in the space and its claimed there were 500,000, we’ll know porkies are being told.

Who’s with me?!
where’s Richie Boyd Barrett these days, he seems to have lost interest in being a professional protester?
bet he’s jealous of Paul Murphy
True, he has gone quiet. Maybe handing over to next generation?
There’s a website for that too:
http://www.daftlogic.com/projects-google-maps-area-calculator-tool.htm
Area of Kildare st to just past junction with Molesworth st. = 2395.96 m²
loose crowd 2395.96 m² /0.9 = 2,662
tightly packed 2395.96 m² / 0.4m sq =5990
mosh pit = 2395.96 m² /0.2m =11,980
Area of Molseworth st, assuming whole street, including paths and barriers in place in front of Dail = 1077.81 m²
loose crowd 1077.81/0.9 = 1196
tightly packed 1077.81/ 0.4m sq =2692
mosh pit = 1077.81 /0.2m =5385
All we need now is a high res arial photo to work out the density on the day and hey presto, job done.
Right
You’re in charge of the count Dudloonie
Returning Officer for the constituency of Broadsheet
Clipboard at the ready.
Gotta hand it to them – they never give up. There must be very little else going on in their lives.
