The Dublin Gay Pride Parade on Saturday

Some more good news if you are gay,
You’re under no pressure to say,
“I do” to him yet,
It’s anyone’s bet,
Just when you will get your big day.

It’s really the courts causing these delays. Can referendum challenges not be fast tracked and decided first?

Gerry Walshe, the guy delaying everything, is challenging the result of the referendum on the grounds that the government was not impartial. His evidence for this is photos of Yes posters put up by Fine Gael and Labour outside supermarkets in his native Co Clare. In the initial hearing President of the High Court, Mr Justice Nicholas Kearns, said that this could not possibly constitute evidence of partiality or wrongful allocation of public funds by the government and denied Gerry permssion to bring the petition to the High Court.

The current delay is because Gerry is appealing this decision.
