I made a video to help the efforts at Uplift in getting signatures for the Syrian refugee petition they’ve devised. It’s a version of Paul McCartney’s ‘Let ‘Em In’ cut to difficult-to-watch footage. My hope is it will help get the petition over the 45,000 signature target.

The Uplift petition currently has almost 37,000 signatures.

Perhaps someone will do the same for the homeless citizens in Ireland.
A youtube video with a catchy tune, petitions, demonstrations, TDs standing outside the Dept of Justice offices.

    1. Cup of tea anyone

I wonder would they go to Mosney if they had a choice. Or any of the refugee areas. Probably better life and safer living on the street.

      1. Neilo

Listen to me now, when Mosney was a soi disantholiday camp, I had to be dragged there. A lot of human units arriving there over the next several months would be better advised to annex Laytown instead. That’s how bad Mosnia-Hercegovina is and it would have the added benefit of civilising LEast Meath.

Yeah, that’s how I deduce the validity of all arguments I don’t like as well. ‘Is he famous? No? Then I don’t need to listen.’

number of refugees Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar have offered to take in?
thats right, you guessed it! ZERO!

Bonus marks for guessing which of these countries is funding ISIS?!

No, lets not let them in. Why should the EU build a dam when the UN should try turning off the tap. This pitching countries against one another as a ‘who takes the most’ is bullsh1t. Upstream measures need to be developed to prevent their want to leave their nation. Otherwise there is no end to the problem.

Secondly, why should sub Sahara migrants be treated differently? If they leave a country they are registered in the one they arrive and they are managed as best as possible until long term plans can be developed. The Syrians are refusing to be registered in some countries. They want to go to the wealthier countries.

Well said, totally agree. I’m all for helping refugees, the vast majority of these people are not refugees.

      1. case

What??? you state that as fact? wheres the data to back that up.Personally if my country was in the same state as Syria or Afghanistan I would be jumping into the sea too!

        1. Anomanomanom

Ok i accept the point that i can’t say 100% fact, but from what iv seen and read there are well to many non refugees to just open the gates and have a free for all, people need to be processed, checks done.

i also find it odd that theyre refusing shelter in some coutries, like the train incident, and they flat out demanded to go to germany, and they refused food and water, that was being given to them, goin on hunger strike, until sent to germany. im sorry, but is it not the biggest example of ‘beggars cant be choosers’ ever seen? syria is a terrifying place, and you get outta there, and then start gettin picky with what help youre offered? seems a bit rich

and on top of that, if the situation was reversed, not on your nelly would they as muslims take christians in from Europe.

        1. Cup of tea anyone

I think you are confusing Muslims with terrorists. Not an easy mistake to make but you managed it anyway.

Sure I couldn’t teach. I can make stupid comments on the interwebs alright. But the children are our future and I would hate to think that I shaped their future in any way.

          2. 15 cents

im not confusing muslims with terrorists. you’d know if you’d been there.

.. and im ok for a cup thanks, i dont drink tea.

          3. 15 cents

muslim isnt just one overall religion, there’s loads of different types of muslim. the paki ones are sound.

admittedly, i’m trolling. but im done now, works over, so off home and a fresh start tomorrow. only i’ll probably troll the other crowd then, it’s not as easy though because when dumb people are wrong they always resort to “well its my opinion and im entitled to it”.. the smart side are easier to troll, which is what ive been doing today. all in all, i had a bit of craic.

          5. 15 cents

well don, the idea of trollin isn’t meant to be funny for those gettin trolled .. for me however ..

          6. Don Pidgeoni

I suspect you aren’t even trolling. Not sure why you should get away with using this when you wouldn’t get away with other derogatory racial terms.

      2. case

don’t they want to go to Germany because Germany has told them they are welcome there? Beggars??? Yeah how dare those bad muslims! They should have no choice at all! No rights. sure aren’t they lucky to be alive etc……

        1. 15 cents

im not calling them beggars, its a phrase. beggars cant be choosers. its a phrase, if i say does a bear sh!t in the woods, im not literally asking do bears sh!t in the woods. nor am i calling the refugees beggars.

          1. case

Didn’t think you mean’t it literally actually, but you made it quite clear that you think they should know their place . The cheek of them trying to have a say in their future! Beggars can’t be choosers!!!

          2. 15 cents

i just think they’re turning down help when they’re not in a position to do so. the numbers have to be distributed out. at least wait a while when you get there, then head off somewhere else. on that train, 500 refused to stay, and 15 accepted the help. so that means out of 515 refugees, 15 are sound. ah i just threw in that last bit to wind u up a bit.

I only read last week about Sousse locals who tried to jump in front of the guns wielded by The Jihadist Gobsh1te Who Will Not Be Named sot that intended target wouldn’t be slaughtered. That’s courage and that’s real patriotism. Good people to be found all over this big, blue marble.

    1. Dόn Pídgéόní

Some of them have been waiting 2 weeks to be processed (horrible word, they aren’t animals). Is it surprising when they are sleeping outside and reliant on the care of the local people?

  4. 15 cents

it’ll be interesting to see how it all pans out in the end. the long term effect, like its sooooooo many extra people around Europe, from a different background etc.

      1. 15 cents

that would be good.. seen a few hot ones, lads and girls, in the crowds. but i dont think muslims are allowed score christians.
