“[Last night] we looked after 158 of our homeless friends. It was bitterly cold but at least it was not raining we had seven new volunteers so far this week which is great to see as, even with the weather getting bad, the number of people wanting to help is still increasing. A big thanks to everybody who helps and supports us – as without you all, we really would not be able to help the homeless as much as we do”

Often wondered where the Farmbake cakes were baked. Every shop, supermarket and filling station seems to have them stocked pile high.
Well done to the YNA people for their good deeds.
They seemed to get more food than I had yesterday and I work full time.
I don’t think they got all of that each.
Or that they eat it all in one go. Fruit, crisps, cakes etc can be carried around until you are hungry later.
Aye, never underestimate the caloric punch of cake when you’re on both shanks’ mare and your uppers. Great initiative, great result: let’s hope for an early drop in the client numbers.

I work full time and barely have enough to buy food myself after I pay tax’s, mortgage, bills, property tax etc… I would of loved some hot soup, a cake and packet of crisps yesterday.

Maybe you can pretend to be homeless and ask one of the volunteers for a dictionary. Seriously, I don’t get how grown adults cannot tell the difference between ‘of’ and ‘have’. I mean, if you weren’t paying attention enough to learn what an oxbow lake is, grand but not having basic English is fupping baffling.

To be fair to Moyest, your comments make you sound entitled, immature and ignorant. Ten years ago you might have been justified in your comments but now there are a lot more homeless and the reasons are more varied thanks to austerity.
And how about you learn how to make a decent veg soup and bring it to your full time job? Or make some muffins. You have the means, so why not?
Unless you’re just here to bash those less fortunate for availing of services which are designed to help them…
