The masterful portraits of Belfast artist Colin Davidson. Choppy, textured brushwork eliciting the appearance of light striking the angles of the faces of (above) Brad Pitt, Liam Neeson, Lisa Hannigan, Ciaran Hinds, Angela Merkel, Roddy Doyle, Gavin Friday and Sinead Morrissey.

Portraits of celebrities are vulgar and whorish. Who would by one of these? Who tajes themselves serious enough to commission one. Kak.

I’m telling you, art has really gone downhill since rich and famous people started commissioning portraits of themselves.

    2. MoyestWithExcitement

Yeah, Angela Merkel and Roddy Doyle definitely both went to the same guy to commission self portraits.

        “Yeah”

That’s just an affirmative, makes you sound dull and sheepish. I never said they did commission them, I simply asked a question. Not my fault you’re making assumptions. Makes an ass out of you and me.

            “Right”

That’s just another way of saying yes. I knew you agreed! You’re so obvious, you don’t even know it.

Uh huh. Yep. You’re definitely right. I totally agree with you. Those celebrities are idiots for getting a self portrait and that none of them actually got a self portrait and that they’re here to answer your questions.

There you go again. The celebs have duck egg for Brekfeast and all of a sudden that makes you an expert? I don’t think so. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should! And if painting are art then what are statues? I don’t suppose you know that either do you?

And if painting are art then what are statues?

I’m fresh off an amateur production of Juno And The Paycock, and this line is pure O’Casey.

Nope, in the land of Tipperary, where the shadows lie. (There was only one actual Dublin accent amongst the lot of us.)

Ah, there’s one taking place near me, and very good it is too. Hope you enjoy it.

(The Plough and the Stars has been ruined for me though thanks to LC)

Oh we had ‘the crack’ as they say. Actually, I think it ended up being a pretty decent production, and a lot of fun. After years studying the trilogy, I’m not sure I’d be up for going to see them, but performing in one was great.
