Former Secretary General of the Department of Finance Kevin Cardiff at the launch of his book Recap – Inside Ireland’s Financial Crisis in Dublin last night

He’s back.

And he’s on RTÉ Radio One’s Ray D’Arcy Show right now.

How’s that going?

Right so.

Yeah nobody is to blame for anything anymore.

Mess up, cause a catastrophe and just shrug and go on Facebook.

That’s the old school right there, that knob is the reason we need the like of Catherine Murphy as Taoiseach !

At least someone with an ounce of integrity and not scrotes like this hollowed out fool with less worth in his balls than a compulsive masturbater !

Theoretically high pay levels for senior jobs are meant to match the burden of responsibility on that person to get things right.

No culpability? Fine – work stress and responsibility free for dole plus 50 squid.

““I think we make too much of it [culpability]” says Kevin Cardiff, former secretary general of the Dept. of Finance.”

Typical doublespeak bulls*it from one of the golden circle crowd. The actual problem in Ireland is that nobody is ever held responsible for anything.

  6. huh?

or listen to what he said next. or the whole interview. he spoke well and made a lot of sense explaining a complicated situation.

I agree there. There isn’t much to crucify him other than a share of the department’s incompetence and lack of experience.

When that tax take was underestimated at the time, it was announced with the glee of someone finding a fifty down the couch, as if it was a good thing.

I just thought, if they can underestimate their tax take, they can get a lot other things wrong in the opposite direction.

How many murders will we put Gerry down for in this new era of ‘culpability’ you want to usher in?

Attention!!! FG Followers/ Supporters/ Self appointed shills/ Anyone who just wants to help the FG party:

Instead of answering difficult questions & digging a bigger hole, just try to shift the subject onto Gerry & the RA if you can. Mightn’t work as most people have brains these days, but do it anyway.

Be relentless. Like Forrest Gump running.

Remember that time Lowry and redacted were mentioned in that Moriarty report and questionable payments were made for the granting of a licence. Well, that licence could not have been awarded without the help of some top brass civil servants, what happened to those guys? Oh yeh, nothing.

The recording ends as if there is another part to the interview. Has anyone heard it? I can’t seem to find it anywhere.

Why the hell did we have to wait all these years to hear all of this? The debt was taken in the name of the citizens of the country, but nobody would be arsed to tell people what was really going on. I think at the bottom of this is the civil servants’ self-preservation. We need a more transparent system. I agree to a certain point with his point that the threat of accountability can cause paralysis when big decision need to be made, but I do think that people need to be treated with more respect after things go wrong.

More transparency would have minimised the anguish this country is still suffering.
