Very reasonable, I was told. A couple of examples ….an internal flight – €20; 9 hour bus ride – €5 with fill air con, etc. Got a guide/driver for a whole day at €50.

About €600+ for flights to get there.

Aha I saw you mention this on another thread before they’d gone – good to hear they enjoyed it! Couldn’t recommend it enough :-)

How did she find it? That’s my only slight concern, though I never had trouble in other Muslim countries…. Maybe its just Iran being super hardline even though I’ve only heard good things from tourists

I heard no bad reports Don, I know herself through himself, and only recently but her Facebook tells me she had a ball. The pics were something else… she studied art, photography and video but doesn’t do it as a professional, but she clearly has a great eye. So, beyond the pics and the fact I heard no bad stories, I think she got on fine :)

Except, she got very strange looks when she said she didn’t drink tea :)

Yeah, they don’t understand that over there. Easier to drink the tea, even if you have no enamel left by the end of the trip.

I wonder what’s Iranian for “ah, you will?” :)

Get there before the owld I.S. get their hands on them and blow them up. They’re mad ones for being against a bit of owld colour in the religion..

    Amazing

But like innocent young girls were attacked in Germany

And then Donald trump was saying …

    Blah blah blah

Did you know that during WW2, a number of mosques in Paris hid Jews to protect them from the invading Germans.

          Feck the beheading!

Nah, not really. There’s no excusing barbaric behaviour. Religion is a canker on the side of humanity, imo. I just meant that when push comes to shove and people’s lives are at stake, religion and all that goes with it can be put to the side and lives can be saved. Just wish it took more than outright carnage to trigger that side of humanity.

Still it’s an interesting bit of trivia about WW2.

It’s against Islamic law to depict any of Allahs work in art. Hence the geometric patterns. So God is NOT in the details. :)

Architecturally and artistically magnificent but I could never support any religion who wastes so much money on building such edifices when many of their flock are suffering through poverty and homelessness. A church or a mosque should be functional and stop there.
