Yesterday at 1pm my elderly aunt’s two dogs were stolen by two males, one with a bike from outside Lidl and the Taphouse, Ranelagh [Dublin 6]. It seems like dog theft is on the rise.
Thankfully one of the dogs was found late last night in Kilmhanham but the older one Mosey (top) who is an 11-year-old, microchipped female Irish Wheaten Terrier, is still missing.
My Aunt would be eternally grateful if your followers could help and highlight the dangers of leaving pets unattended.
Anyone?

Mosey was found safe and well, she was taken in by a staff member from Focus Ireland [homeless agency] last night near Thomas Street [Dublin 8 and they found one of my posts online. Thanks for all your help!
I’d say that must have so traumatic for your poor aunt – what sort of scummer would do such a thing :(
I hope that Mosey turns up ok.
who the hell rob dogs?
11 year old one too!

Those involved in illegal dog-fighting for starters. It’s extremely common. They user older/weaker dogs and gentle breeds to ‘blood’ their fighting animals. To have them experience the ‘kill’. I’m sorry to be so blunt about it.
I’m a dog owner myself and I find it abhorrent.
Never, ever leave your dog unattended in a public place. They’ll even steal them from your back garden if your dog is left out….
That’s horrific. My mammys dog is an utterly sweet natured thing , afraid of loud noises and feet and stuff like that, and the thought of something like that happening is sickening. Some people are just evil.
another reason I won’t let my cats outside.
people are awful.
So happy to hear both dogs have been found. Absolute scum.
My day has been made…. Genuinely… The thought of anything nasty happening to those two perfect pups really was upsetting me earlier….
there’ll be a new personally removed horror tomorrow.
The world I live and work in has more horrors than you could possibly fathom….
You’re Twink’s agent?
Policing has gone to crap in this country.
Scumbags are doing this because they know they can get away with it.
Baseball bats.
So delighted this despicable deed had a happy ending & absolute Well Dones to staff member at Focus Ireland-sterling job!
We all need to be vigilant & proactive when seeing dogs in distress-surely this thievery by the scum was witnessed in central Ranelagh?
It’s store policy to not allow dogs enter the store and for hygiene reasons that is understandable, but surely forcing the patron to leave the dog unattended outside while they shop there leaves the store owners somewhat responsible for the dog.
Legal coffee drinker, is this sort of question too low brow for you?
“leaves the store owners somewhat responsible for the dog”
Jesus wept.
Cork on the fork stuff here.
LCD has more or less loooooong since abandoned Broadsheet
Love wheatens, delighted your aunt got her back!
