You don’t use personal email to do public service business any thicko civil servant knows that. but because she’s a LaaayDeeee , John white-knight Moynes to the rescue. Get this: “The commissioner takes “all recommended security measures” when using Gmail, including “regularly changing the password [and] using a mix of letters, numbers and symbols”, according to the Garda statement. (basically she did it wrong but in doing so she did it in a right way so everything’s okay, carry on, nothing to see here Garda BS !!) If your that un-professional/stupid/lazy to use a personal email account to do state business , there is no way she regularly changes her passwords (with a mix of letters and number) don’t make me laugh. she’s still using the same password she set the Gmail account up with over a decade ago. I know it, you know it, anyone who uses Gmail knows it because Google don’t prompt you too . i’d LOVE to see copies of the email notifications of these “regular” password changes,. As always, its sneaky lying guards doing god knows what , the usual stuff that doesn’t surprise me.

And there ye might be watching Coronation Street, sipping a vino and casually sending a couple of files about criminals via Gmail.
FFS, ya couldn’t make it up.

As far as I’m aware you can’t sign out of Gmail on an android phone. So if anybody has your phone password then they automatically have access to your Gmail account. Am I correct?

Any Gmail communication is open to interception by Google themselves and the US secret service. And all heads of police, government, civil service etc are surveilled as a matter of course.

So confidential Garda (Irish state) business has probably been intercepted because of this incompetent commissioner.

She’s been making too many mistakes. She needs to go.

I notice that original artice has been butchered. Says “Last updated an hour ago”
Now no sign of the paragraph which said something to the effect of:
“Garda sources said that officers occasionally need to send emails via their personal gmail accounts when the private Garda email network they use becomes too congested”
So in essence, the Gardai use an email system not fit for purpose. Can’t be saying that in the Irish Times!
