She has no party ties. She should not be going for a scripted, and poorly scripted to add, speech on what is a massive problem.

The government are hoping this goes away, and it will as everything does here.

She should remember that people voted for her as an independent and would hope she would use that independent voice. Her and Ross are culpable as anyone for the mess we are now in.

Ah I know, but I meant more that she’s an “Independent”. Not that that means much these days

…did anyone ask the Min for Children what her position is on parents taking children out of school during term time to go on holiday…

Probably focusing on how the Child & Family Agency founded on decades of fupping up investigations into child abuse, fupped up an investigation into child abuse – today anyway.

    Someone is lying.

And someone most definitely needs to face criminal charges over this blackening of McCabes name.

Call a nonsense celeb a nasty name on Twitter and you can face jail time. So if the systematic ruining of a man’s life by state employees doesn’t warrant a jail sentence for those directly involved, then there is no justice for the citizen.

      1. The Lady Vanishes

There was an attempt to blacken his name, which could easily have succeeded were it not for his courage in not backing down, and some good journalism by Michael Clifford and indeed Broadsheet.

How many other such attempts on other people have actually succeeded because they get scared and back down, or because no one stands up for them and the allegations stick? Quite a few I’d saw.

Your deductive powers are so incredibly attuned, I’m surprised you’re not running a global website debunking the lies of the MSM at every turn.

What are you getting at? Journalism doesn’t entail research or something? You realise you sound like a clown don’t you?

You’re like a failed tabloid hack, who’s jealous of those who do decent work and get a bit of credit for it.

Right wing editor lectures someone on editorial whilst puking associated press clips verbatim all over his mundane shallow rubbish filled rag..

            FAIL

The change in regard for Zappone over the last year or so is utterly striking.

Can’t wait until Saint Murphy and Shortall make the mistake of going into a coalition.

    1. Kieran NYC

That reminds me – Comrade Paul Murphy has been stunningly silent lately. Most unlike him.

Heaven for the rest of us though!

Next election will swing for FF. Independents and small parties (if there are any left who aren’t SF) will be pressured to go into coalition or give their support amidst loud complaints about them doing nothing if they go into opposition. Horror, disgust and betrayal when it turns out that supporting coalition government involves compromises, toeing the party line, and efforts to spin and manage the latest scandal. Government falls, Independents and small parties get scapegoated, FG form coalition, horror, disgust, betrayal etc, FF cycle back into power an election later. Repeat ad nauseum.

SF may be the wild card in all this, God help us.

RTE is already trying to direct the narrative on all this with Primetime going with the ‘series of extraordinary errors’ story with regards Tuslas involvement. I hope it is an error but that has yet to be established. A criminal inquiry will do that.

    1. rotide

It’s obvious to anyone with eyes in their head that McCabe was deliberately smeared. Currently, there is no solid proof (I’m talking legal, court of law stuff here) as to who ordered it and carried it out. That is why RTE and the Media have been using the amusing phrases ‘clerical error’ and ‘series of extrodinary errors’. They don’t actually believe this. Most people hearing or reading these phrases don’t actually believe it.

      1. Eoin

+1 Yeah, nobody’s gonna believe it. Walks like a duck, sounds like a duck, looks like a duck….we can’t prove in a court of law that it’s a duck, but I’d still bet the mortgage that it’s a duck. And cutting and pasting hardcore accusations willy nilly …..by accident? Is still no excuse.

Kennysmells deflecting from Paul Murphy’s silence and inaction on Garda corruption, nice.

Apparently Murphy only cares about policing when they won’t let him sit in front of a car like a spoilt child.

And I thought Adele’s performance was bad. I expect Uns Mullally will rush to support Zaccrony by not writing anything in the Irish Times. Appalling.
