This afternoon
Smock Alley Theatre, Dublin.
Fine Gael Minister for Social Protection Leo Varadkar launches his policy document, Taking Ireland Forward, as part of his campaign for the Fine Gael Leadership.
Courage-free Tory Boy cheat us all.
FIGHT!
Meanwhile…
Mr Varadkar mentioned air traffic control as one of the essential public services – as well as transport services such as the Luas – that might be precluded from strike action following a Labour Court recommendation.
In another manifesto pledge, he said he would abolish the “help to buy” scheme for first time buyers if it was shown to increase house prices.
Mr Varadkar said he would replace a key policy of his main rival, Minister for Housing Simon Coveney.
The money saved from scrapping the income tax refund would be used to set up a fund to incentivise older people to move out of larger homes.
Leo Varadkar says he will ban public sector strikes in ‘essential’ areas (Irish Times)

What an utterly meaningless strap-line.
I read that as..
Courage Under F…..
…then I said, ‘stop that’.
It was amazing. Had to be there…
I’m just glad we’re going somewhere
Where?
You don’t need to know. Just get in.
The Cowardly Lion seeks courage. He’s more of a Tin Man though.
now lads, did we not talk about this?
lol
They didn’t listen…
The wide shot looks really weird.
I don’t think he will last. He is all soundbite and making himself look good. Difficult to make yourself look good when any decision you make will piss of loads of people, something Simon Cowardly Harris has discovered in health.
+1
he has spent the last 3 years working on becoming leader instead of implementing any change anywhere. At least Covney has tried some policies (most of which I don’t agree with).
Leo has shown no courage in his ministries.
I can see from the second photograph that Leo isn’t shy about addressing an overflow crowd.
false claims
What that slogan says is Irish Politicians have been historically and evidentally lacking in courage and the ability to plan ANYTHING for the Future in the right way.
“This time we swear we will try to have courage” – No you effin well won’t! It will be the same rubbish as before with FG, just this time inside the suit is a younger man who is gay. Which is a trick to make you think that he’s progressive, but he is Not.
…can’t wait for the blood-letting when young Leo gets the reins…if he ditches Harris he will have done the country some service. I’m predicting that the biggest loser will be big mouth Kate O’Connell in Dub Bay South and I’m predicting that Lucrezia will be lured back into the party to take her seat…
I’d say Eucinda might have issues with Leo
but
when you’re a hungry lone dog you’ll join any pack
Loose Lips and Leo go way back. They were bosom buddies in the Trinity branch of Young Fine Gael. Don’t mistake her position on abortion as representative of her social views generally, particularly when it comes to the gays. Indeed, they’re so close that if she finds a way back into the Dail in the next election (probably by stepping on Kate O’Connell’s head in DBS) and Leo cobbles together another minority government/coalition, she is pretty much guaranteed a full car.
there ya go
everyday’s a school day
We need to examine what Leo has done in his previous portfolios
nothing, only sound bites mostly aired on Sundays, indeed he
resembles a local version of Trump.
did we not already dismiss the plan of pushing old people out of their homes as something that wouldn’t work, was callous, and wouldn’t create near enough accom. needed even if it did work? yea. i was sure we did. god this fascist is guna make this a very very Tory lookin ireland.
