Is anyone really surprised that they let that old goat out of his dungeon for a day out? All pomp, no circumstance, a tightly managed act of humility to the public, but hanging out with the shamed in private like nothing happened. Ask forgiveness, but never say the word sorry because of the legal implications.

Paedo protectors and facilitators hoping to sweep back into power on a wave of 500k in the Phoenix park got a kick in the backside. Their hold has been broken, we can see they’re a busted flush and now we can campaign to get them the hell out of our schools and hospitals.

…those anti-choice FFers who posed for the photo before the referendum must be getting even more worried…

Irish Media seem to be silent on the fact that the Pope didn’t know about the Mother and Baby Homes. Query: what EXACTLY has the Irish Ambassador to the Holy See been doing for the past few years? Shouldn’t she have informed the Vatican/Holy See on behalf of the State. Instead we had to watch our Ambassador to the Holy See greet the Pope 3 times before he met the Taoiseach inn saturday morning (airport, Aras, Outside Dublin Castle) and listen to nauseating RTE commentators talk about her and the fact that her kids played on the floor in front of the Pope in Rome. Should she not have informed a Vatican Flunkey over the past few years about the Mother and Baby Homes? Or perhaps President Higgins could have at one of his 4 meetings with the pope or was he too busy passing tissues to the wife who was (and I quote RTÉ commentators ‘overcome with emotion’. These people!

…or at the very least an incompetent. He is 5 years in the job. Imagine interviewing a CEO of a company at the helm for that long that was unaware of publicly known irregularities in one of his branches. He’d be out on his bum.

I agree with the sentiments expressed here. That said, if you feel that the Pope should know about these misdeeds, the surely don’t just expect someone else to do it, why don’t YOU DO IT!
Expecting someone else to do it is nothing other than ‘passing the buck’ and ‘just talk and no action’. On that basis it’s not surprising the Pope is unaware – everyone thinks that everyone else is doing it, and the paedo gets away!
If you know FACTS then do the honourable thing and keep informing the Vatican/Pope until you receive a qualified reply stating that they will investigate; don’t get fobbed off with a nice reply thanking you for your letter, etc.
As the saying says “PUT UP OR SHUT UP”
