Following a vote in the Seanad, The Regulation of Termination of Pregnancy Bil will now go to President Higgins to sign into law having passed all stages of the Oireachtas.

Deirdre Duffy, Campaign Manager for Together for Yes, said:

“This is a truly momentous day for women in Ireland. Today, the final hurdle for Together for Yes has been crossed.

For the first time ever since the establishment of the state, women who become pregnant in Ireland are now safe and protected by compassionate legislation.

The harm and suffering the Eighth has caused for women is now only a memory and as a nation we will ensure that women are never treated this way again in Ireland.

2018 will be recognised as a turning point in how this country respects and treats women.

This year has unleashed a new women’s movement across the generations who are now determined to overcome all remaining challenges to achieve real and lasting gender equality.”

    We pay for 60 senators.

Did just 32 turn up for this historic vote?

Which senators could be bothered to do the job for which we pay them €66,940 a year plus that again in benefits and expenses?

Only Senators who have proposed amendments can speak on the Bill. Quite likely the rest were happy with it already.

In the words of my favorite obnoxious child, “Can it, you nit.”

I refuse to feel shame for taking ownership of my body. But thanks for trying.

Abortion is abortion. Murder is murder. They are different words because they are different things.
      Happy to help.
      Merry Christmas!

Relieved. One less thing to worry about.

Notable that Mullen tried to add punishments into the legislation right up until the last minute. he’s a vicious little see you next tuesday.

I dunno. I’m kinda worried that more human’s than ever Will be aborted because of the mile-wide (infinitely wide in fact) legislation allowing all abortions up to 12 weeks.

I’m also worried, for reasons previously discussed here, that more and more human’s with disabilities will be aborted because they are deemed a liability and not wanted. Also I’m worried that babies will be aborted because they’re the “wrong” sex.

I’d have preferred if most of my fellow Irish people didn’t think ending the lives of fellow human’s was ok. But they didn’t.

I’ve no doubt anyone that can support ending the lives of human’s wouldn’t care about any concern I might have about it. Once you’ve convinced yourself that abortion is ok, you’re past caring.
