Earlier this week Dún Laoighaire-Rathdown County Council issued a swimming ban at Seapoint, Sandycove and Forty Foot beaches following an overflow from wastewater treatment plants in in Dublin Bay.

Dublin City Council issued a similar swimming ban for Dollymount Strand following an overflow from the treatment plant in Ringsend.

Beaches update! Testing results show Seapoint & Forty Foot bathing areas safe for swimming.

Sandycove Beach sample showed elevated levels of e.coli /enterocci & will remain closed pending additional results due Friday

Fresh water test results are also expected to be returned for Dollymount today.

    how long after you swim in Dublin before you suffer a dose of the scutters? It might make the Dart journey home pretty messy

    Minister for the Environment – Richard Bruton – should be made swim in that muck if it’s safe for us to bath in.
