Sandycove Beach earlier this week
Earlier this week Dún Laoighaire-Rathdown County Council issued a swimming ban at Seapoint, Sandycove and Forty Foot beaches following an overflow from wastewater treatment plants in in Dublin Bay.
Dublin City Council issued a similar swimming ban for Dollymount Strand following an overflow from the treatment plant in Ringsend.

Sandycove Beach sample showed elevated levels of e.coli /enterocci & will remain closed pending additional results due Friday
Fresh water test results are also expected to be returned for Dollymount today.

Safety notice following a massive plastic spill at the Forty Foot bathing area and and Sandycove beach. Works by building contractors SIAC/Mantovani Group at the Dun Laoghaire Baths project have left plastic strips used in the concrete setting works washed up along the coastline.

Very heavy foam detergent coming ashore at Sandycove’s Forty Foot near James Joyce’s Tower. I preferred “the sea, the snotgreen sea, the scrotumtightening sea” not cleaned this way.
