Please place the Charleton Tribunal (aka Disclosures Tribunal under Judge Peter Charleton) third report by Judge Peter Charleton, on your list of greatest Irish non-fiction, owing to its present-day insight into how modern Ireland works, the effortless writing, the good (often black) humour and its [spoiler alert] conclusion about the recent, highest ranked Garda in the land.

    It’s “unputdownable”.

And when Peter gives up the old judging lark, a career in writing beckons.

Also, while on the face of it, this work of non-fiction is free, in fact, it’s probably the most expensive work on the list costing, I’d estimate, €10 million or so, mostly for legal advisors and administration of the tribunal.

  2. Ciarán Mc Mahon

well you didn’t say self-nominations were out and this is the age of grift so…..

Please place “The Psychology of Social Media” by *me* as an example of great Irish non-fiction owing to its recent review as ’a much-needed call for action by questioning how much we really know about the influence of social media services and platforms on society and social relations in the modern world’ – see http://ciaranmcmahon.ie/?p=1241
