This afternoon.
Mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor leaves the Criminal Courts of Justice after been convicted of assaulting a man in a Dublin pub and fined €1,000.
He was given one month to pay the fine.
Earlier…
This morning.
Members of the public attempt to pose for a selfie with Conor McGregor as he enters the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin today to face assault charges from April of this year.
More as we get it.

wow, that man has some guts. Lucky he didn’t get battered….
which assault is this? the old man in the pub or one of the assaults that can’t be properly reported in this country?
This one is the Marble Arch one on the aulfella.
Was that where the fella said he didn’t like his whiskey?
So it’s said, yes.
extremely lame, wanting a photo with that national disgrace. and to be a national disgrace in ireland, where we have national disgraces coming out our arses, really is quite a feat. so well done to all involved, mcgregor for being no more worthy than snot in a jar, and to the real life snot in a jar talking a pic with him. losers one and all.
And to the middle class hand-ringers who rabbitted on about how McGregor was actually quite a good role-model for working class people. He wasn’t, ever. He was always a chancer (that’s putting it mildly).
That literally never happened, in fact the opposite was the case and people were saying the middle classes were looking down their noses at him and he was a great role model due to success etc, only when he started making racist and homophobic remarks did the working class heroes quieten down, and now the various assault allegations, he is now a pariah (with over 100mill in the bank).
There are tonnes of middle class MMA fans who (probably still) love him.

Last paragraph in particular.
And pretty much all of this:

Ah that was just Terry looking for first dibs on the hagiography.
una mullaly is a prime example of that. she “discovered” a working class rap group and tweeted about them ordering everyone to go to their gigs and support them, and then later was angered that they were in fact, unsurprisingly, rapping about sex and violence, and called them immature and crass. presumably confused that they weren’t rapping about things like equality and repeal etc.
More LOLs than you could shake a stick at !!
Una MulLOLy
That’s mullaly alright.
she’s a dose. i agree with a good bit of what she says, but then she’ll be hanging around with katherine zappone and sayin she’s great. which flies in the face of the moral standing she takes and gives out to people for not also taking. or she’ll do things like when joe mackens badly ran businesses folded she blamed literally whoever was reading the article for not supporting “independent restaraunts” even tho he was a scummy business man who regularly didnt pay suppliers and staff. i also think you can claim to be a small independent business when you have 8 restaraunts. then there was the time the coffee shop beside her house closed down, we were all to blame for that too, because we didn’t go to HER local coffee shop enough. that got an article. hard to take seriously when she does creppe like that.
Cop the fupp on, he’s a no holds barred fighter, they are not role models.
Does that also apply to Katie Taylor?
a chancer? not a hope. a self made multi millionaire yes. and that’s self with a capital S. kudos for that.
But what will Joe.ie post about?
sniff, sniff
The Muppet Show
That man is not a hero model for young wouldbe sports stars to follow.
Looks like FGers love the cut and thrust of admiration for ‘celebrities’
Enda Kenny admires thug. https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/politics/kenny-i-admire-conor-mcgregor-but-my-own-fight-was-to-form-coalition-35320379.html
Charlie Flanagan and the admiration for ‘celebrity’ hate speech maker. Brandon Arrey. So much so that he recruits him.
UPDATE: a 1000 euro fine, for a guy with 100 million in the bank. Justice has been served
if that is true then it means he practically has a licence to punch…
And let me guess, not enough of a conviction to bar him from the likes of the US where he’ll earn millions?
ha! courts are playing a blinder this week, wha?
