Yesterday.

Professor Martin Cormican, National Lead for Infection Control and Antimicrobial Resistance, HSE, displaying some of the PPE equipment sourced from China, at a HSE briefing in Dublin.

With Just 10 per cent of the total €200 million order having arrived. Professor Cormican stated that only 65 per cent of the first batch has met the required standard.

Good times.

Meanwhile.

This morning

A shipment of five million pieces of personal protection equipment (PPE) is believed to have been delivered to Northern Ireland, according to the NI secretary.

Brandon Lewis said the PPE consignment should have arrived at approximately 07:00 BST on Monday morning.

He said it would be delivered to the health services “in the course of the day”.

It would help ensure sure staff had the “protection they need”, he added.

was the county manager of Fingal before this (calling himself the CEO of Fingal for whatever reason his head cooked up) and didn’t do much of a job there. The HSE must have been stuck when he came knocking.

The picture of the goods on racking of course is to try give the impression that we are well stocked. In effect, the bulk of what’s in those racks is not Covid-19 equipment. #concannonbots

Reading that, the 25 EU States did a joint purchasing. Odd that the blame for the unsuitable stuff hasn’t been passed onto the EU, and that we’re being told that it’s our own HSE did our ordering.

I’m sure when the suitability reduces to 50%, then it’ll be a Bart Simpson reaction.

They haven’t said if they are returning the crap they can’t use for a refund?

Also is it correct that the E200m spend on PPE is compared to a normal annual spend of E15M?

The crap didn’t meet the required standard. There’s been no indication that it didn’t meet the specified standard. It’s clear that those placing multi-million-euro orders and those senior folks signing off on those orders had no idea of the difference until they tried to inflict the crap equipment on the frontline.
