This afternoon.

Leinster House, Dublin 2.

A small ‘Get The Government Out’ protest outside the Dáil, calling for the current Government to be removed from power for its handling of the rona, along with an end to the homelessness crisis.

    Pretty poor protest… ;-(

While I agree that a certain level of shutdown was required by government, when we didn’t know what we were dealing with on Covid.

But, now that we know the fatality rate is a fraction of what we first thought, the entertainment industry certainly needs some kind of a roadmap back to normality.

Unless we don’t want to go to concerts, football matches, theatre etc for the next 5 years.

Great support for a very important industry there Cu

I’m sure you never attend any of the above.

Indeed I do.. I might even have a small part to play in the wider entertainment industry, but that doesn’t take away from a nonsense protest, which is what this is. Complete waste of time and not representative of the industry.

    The Indo proclaims:
Gardaí to put up 132 checkpoints across the country to ensure compliance with Level 3 lockdown guidelines

Guidelines are guidelines. You cannot there force people into compliance.

    The proper headline should read:
Gardaí to put up 132 checkpoints across the country to advise motorists of Level 3 lockdown guidelines

did they do their part to stop the spread of the virus? If not, then they owe themselves a part of the blame.

Of course it is. Wherever maskhole donkeys congregate, there’s always an altright element to agitate.

if you need to go to a pub/have alcohol to enjoy yourself you have a problem. want to meet your mates? go outside and have a nice walk with them. cant talk to them sober? they shouldnt be your mates then.

    1. Hank

Ok, we get it, you don’t drink/don’t have mates.
      So, nobody else should either.
      Seems reasonable..

BS has 3 standard responses to COVID.

        1. Get over the lack of sport
        2. Get over the lack of drink
        3. Get over the lack of watching / playing sport whilst drinking. (I added that playing bit because I suddenly realise that playing sport whilst drinking might be what sees us through all this)

I suspect that he may have once made a major faux pas (akin to dricco playing for Munster) in Kielys during a Heino match and was debagged by the goys in the locker rooms the following week as a result.

No I don’t drink. Why is drinking and the pub such an integral part of society? Plenty of other things you can do. In case anyone has forgotten there’s a global pandemic of a virus with no vaccine. No pubs for a few months doesn’t seem like a massive sacrifice

Here’s a shocker for you so you might need to take a seat for a sec. Every single European country except Ireland has had their pubs reopened for months now and, guess what else?
The shape of the graph of covid cases over time for every European country that had lockdown, including Ireland, is exactly the same. Opening pubs made no difference.
It’s almost as if there’s some kind of pattern..

          1. Hank

Probably because their new cases have increased. But, you’re conveniently ignoring my point.
If having pubs open makes a difference, then why is the shape of the covid case graph identical for all European countries that had lockdown?
Our pubs have been closed for pretty much 6 months so, according to your logic, shouldn’t that have had an impact on the Irish covid graph??

Give them all a copy of the book about Tom Cream, and they might realise they have little to moan about
