Eddie Van Halen, the guitar virtuoso, has died of cancer at 65
There was a young fellow called Ed
Who strummed till his finger tips bled
And who was, by far
The best at guitar
As those in the know have all said

that’s sad
any news on chris de burgh?
Nasty.
+1
despicable little rodent of a man
I don’t particularly like the guys music but I’ve never met the man, his family or his friends. All I know is what I read in a magazine or newspaper. You’re obviously closer to him and know more than most? He’s done you wrong?
put it this way, Charlie- if you do ever have the misfortune of having anything to do with him, you’ll agree with me
he’s an arrogant, petulant little narcissist with meanness at his core
and anyone who’s ever come across him will attest to that
You’ve met him then?
yes
Shame. He speaks very highly of you.
ha! no, he doesnt !
Unusually,we agree.
I,too,speak from personal experience.
Rather like Gordon Ramsay I put it down to short-arse syndrome.
in de burgh’s case, it’s also someone who got very, very lucky in life – timing, fluke, circumstances all fell in his favour. instead of being thankful, he’s resentful that his ‘talent’ isnt revered
I, too, have dealt with GR. he has issues imo. but, in fairness, he’s good at what he does.
Most people who are very successful are very lucky. It’s part of the deal and I’d never begrudge anyone that. He’s no Dylan but he’s not Daniel O’Donnell. There’s a truckload of untalented people in the music business but they got lucky for one reason or another.
Such a pioneer, what he must have done for the sales of Floyd Rose Tremolos…
RIP Eddie
