Look deep into nature? Is that the Matterhorn? Is that where the rally is? The Matterhorn GPO? Are they telling themselves to go jump in a Swiss lake? Since re-opening is proceeding, albeit slowly, are they just getting out in front of a parade? Visually and ideologically incoherent.

    1. Kdoc

Yep, as the weeks roll by they have less to be shouting about. Soon they’ll return to protesting about fluoride in the water, 5g, chemtrails, the EU etc. – and screaming ‘paedo scum off our streets’.

    2. missred

You got there before me, I was wondering just how deep into nature you’re going to get by howling freedom standing at the auld stiletto

      1. ce

Somewhere in the US… anyway, great image search by the designer, top class stuff. I’d say their YouTube search abilities are similarly second to none.

      2. Redundant Proofreaders Society

Looks like Lake Louise, Canadian Rockies.
In the ‘Fall’ by the cut of those trees, and someone’s holiday snap by the cut of the photo. It was clearly cherished and destined for great things.

  2. RuilleBuille

Is this Justin Barrett’s National Party disguising themselves as nature lovers?

    1. Optimus Grime

They love nature as long as it’s white and Irish and Catholic – They hate foxes for obvious reasons and don’t get them started on blackbirds

      1. Bitnboxy

Loving nature? Look at the head honchos in the National Party from teeney-tiny camp goblin Barrett to Edwin Poots lookalike James Reynolds. Some of these dudes are surely the product of cousin on cousin marriage?! Didn’t work out well for the Spanish Hapsburgs! Mother Nature will get her revenge.

    1. Joe

I wonder that myself, why would anyone want their publication soiled execrably by the likes of these far right homophobes, cheap click bait and nothing else

      1. Bodger

Most people at these events are regular people, neither left-wing nor right, and include gay people, persons of colour, etc.

        1. Bitnboxy

Bull. One of two swallows do not a summer make. There is a very dominant strain of a certain type of individual.

          1. Daisy Chainsaw

            Where are the left Bodger?

Supporting hospital staff, shop workers and fellow decent humans by following the lockdown protocols.

          1. Tony

You can PROVE that ‘most people at these events are regular people’? Holy Shiznit!

            DO IT BODGER!

            DO IT NOW!

          2. General Public

            @ Bodger,

            Please do not stop.

Your posts are unique and your headlines are razor sharp.

Its very very much appreciated. Please keep the chin up proud and high and ignore the incessant whines from the blatantly obvious troll farm.

            Yours,

            An ardent fan

          3. E'Matty

Bodger is right, and you guys are just joining the bilionaire class in trying to silence the voices of ordianry people. Well done you. But but the billionaire class and their supplicant media told you these people were Far Right so they must be. The media never lies. Dopes.

          4. Nigel

Yes, Jeff Bezos told us you were far right E’Matty.
‘That E’Matty, he’s far right, he is,’ sez Jeff. ‘And don’t get me started on that Bodger.’
‘Oy,’ sez I,’ Leave my wife out of this.’

          5. Bitnboxy

E’Matty – from your lofty position of being privy to the “real truth” and hidden secrets revealed only to the truly intelligent, you have the neck to basically castigate others for using obvious tropes, all the while surrendering wholesale to obvious tropes yourself.

“Billionaire class”. Permit me to use a turn of phrase I despise but Jesus wept! Come off it man.

          6. GiggigyGoo

Terrible that the proof of something upsets folk, who hurriedly look up their book of quirky catchphrases and pigeon-hole construction instructions. Then put the phrases all together, and ‘write’ something that makes sense only to themselves.

Fair play Bodger. Keep it up. Nowhere else has the guts.

          7. Bitnboxy

Would you go on out of that with your all proof nonsense.

The poster declares that attendees will “Know the truth”. Does that not strike anyone as a little, oh I don’t know, conspiratorial?! And what sort of groups talk like this? The “you’re being lied to” and “hidden secrets” trope is literally a sine-qua-non of extremism and a classic tool to reel in the gullible and guileless.

Aside from that, the gibberish and woefully basic poster design should also set off alarm bells.

Still, if folks want to turn up- I have no objection as long as it is peaceful, they clean up and go back to their areas when over.

        2. U N M U T U A L

          @bodger
          “Well, where are the left?”

For the past year, in a desperate attempt to be right… they virtue signalled so far to the left that they eventually came full circle and ended up being the right…
One can only assume that when that reality sank in they developed a classic case of psychological projection, hence the professional level vilification.

Probably didn’t help that the everyday people stole their recreational activist thunder.

I’ve got to say, it’s been quiet the fashinating spectacle…

        3. Daisy Chainsaw

They are in their bolleauxes!! This is a right wing movement, steeped in bigotry and racism and it’s embarrassing to see you defend them.

          1. General Public

By that sentiment, you are supporting FFG who are guilty of all those awful things you mention.

          2. Daisy Chainsaw

            Yeah.

Anti racists are the real racists
Antifa are the real fascists etc etc

The people who’ll go to that protest tomorrow are the absolute dregs. They should stick to having man hikes with Philip Dwyer.

          3. General Public

Rants such as that from a person supporting direct provision, travelling community bashing and tents on the street ring hollow I’m afraid.

  3. Gabby

Their eye catching advertising slogan is: We are awake. Are you?
Reminds me of the last lines in Keats’s Ode to a Nightingale:
‘Was it a vision, or a waking dream? Fled is that music:—Do I wake or sleep?’
Justin’s friends must be waxing poetical these days.

  4. Optimus Grime

All the statements are complete nonsense – Stand Together – We are awake, are you? Well unfortunately yes because I am reading this tripe!
Bodger stop giving oxygen to these morons! I’m all for equal voices but not when its incoherent gibberish. Take the PUP off the lot of them I say!

    1. Gemgem

Its been a while since I’ve posted here but from my views Bodger has been turning into these morons gradually since April 2020

  5. Bitnboxy

ROFL. Who are this outfit? I am losing track at this stage.

Reminds me of all the different “pro-life” groups only we then find out it’s the same few saddos and extremists who tog out for the cause and there is quite of bit of duplication.

Let them and their Ivory Coast flags commune with Mother Nature or whatever it is they have convinced themselves they are doing now. They better clean up after the “event in honour of Mother Nature.

  6. millie bobby brownie

I like their poster. Reminds me of a project I did for second year art class.

I must say, this collection of rants is the finest gibbering fascist lunacy I’ve ever seen on BS. The cumulative effect is scarily emotional & hysterical, clearly some deep irrationality is at play. The disparity between the effects of “the disease” & “the cure”, when it comes to Covid-19, can no longer be rationally defended, so animalistic bellowing is a reasonable enough response for rational people finding themselves wedded to beliefs they’ve realised are insane & indefensible but some of the stormtroopers of conformity here are clearly not rational, lending their choruses of moronic, bestial Authoritarianism a real edge that makes historical Totalitarian belief systems look like pure science & logic, in comparison. This might be represented by an image of an infant führer, irritated by the scarcity of support for their rule among their subjects, throwing a tantrum because they realise that one thing their coercive power can never generate is actual, real enthusiasm. Absolutely fascinating how these lower level intellects function. I must investigate if brain-cells are Susceptible & Permissive for the experimental mRNA therapy package that many of them have probably volenteered for, some protein spikes on their brain-cells might explain a lot. Clearly, some are State-sponsored shills but can you imagine this; some of them actually believe the baby-puke nonsense they’re vomiting? Now that’s scary, while simultaneously hilarious & amusing. Yes, the BS comments section has become a Zombie movie, co-directed by Tarantino & Romero. Where’s my popcorn?

    1. Bitnboxy

Pandemic or rather the government response be turning some folks crazy. D’aul repression in Ireland, shur tis dire.

  8. SOQ

I keep asking this question but nobody seems to have an answer to it.

Why is that when people protest in London they are regarded as left wing- and their choice of Bob Marley as walking music and appearance would certainly suggest so- yet in Dublin it MUST be far right? Is London and Dublin really that different?

Or is it the case that the narrative is being tightly controlled, in which case- those who think they are clued in, really aren’t.

    1. Nigel

I know nothing about the London protests you are referring to, but anti-maskers and covid-skeptics are associated with the modern right because they share characteristics with the modern right – highly individulaistic, distrustful of science and expertise, opposed to collective social actions guided by government, paranoid, conspiracy-driven, and, as the poster above suggests, fundamentally incoherent. You may not be right wing, but this is almost entirely driven from the right.

So far as I know there is no left-wing rationale for opposing pandemic response. Issues like social inequalities, mental health services and high-tech surveillance can and should be criticised, but they’re already baked into the society we have and opposing them is an ongoing project.

      1. SOQ

What a comfortable, cocooned, and privileged world you live in Nigel- the people who are hurting most from this lockdown maleficence are working class- particularly those who were unfortunate enough to have been employed in the retail or service industries.

Along with the small business owners and some of those who needed health care other than Covid-19, they have been ignored by ALL the political parties and it is left to the likes Michael McNamara, Peadar Tóibín and yes the Healy-Raes to speak up for them.

That is not ‘far right’, that is a democratic deficient.

        1. Nigel

Well, they claim to speak for them. Somehow I doubt they really do. Nor you, either. Downplaying the reality of the pandemic isn’t doing anyone any favours, except cheap cynical populists. I note you didn’t respond to anything I actually said.

          1. Nigel

            What a cop-out.

Edit: okay, look, I’m sorry if you feel you’re being trolled, but all I can say is that I mean what I say, and I don’t know what you expect, abject agreement?

      2. Micko

“ highly individulaistic, distrustful of science and expertise, opposed to collective social actions guided by government, paranoid, conspiracy-driven, and, as the poster above suggests, fundamentally incoherent.”

Ye know, when people used to say the “far- right”, I always thought the far-right were skinheads lookin lads in bomber jackets who beat up and hated people that looked different or acted differently to them.

Now it’s people who think differently to you.

You’re not worried about their actions – you’re concerned about their thoughts.

You really should have a long think about what you think you’re “fighting for” Nidgey.

It’s just thoughts in people heads man – that’s all.

        1. Nigel

If you think ‘people who are far right think differently from you, Nidgey’ is some sort of gotcha, then God love ya.

    2. Bitnboxy

This is not the impression I got from some of the lockdown matches in London (although what exact ones are you referring to SOQ?). Still, got to be said that in the recent Madrid elections, it was the right (PP – and they have drifted quite far right) and the actual far-right Vox who did very well from their anti-lockdown stances. UK anti-lockdowners/maskers/vaxxers tend to just be of a general fringey vibe and not keen on any establishment party, left or right. As here, most folks don’t really associate or see themselves as similar to this lot. To me they usually strike me as upset about something but they don’t really know what- sort of Brexity…they are angry but can’t put their finger on it.

      1. SOQ

I am specifically referring to the last one near two weeks ago- numbers vary but it was huge and many many POC in attendance. There is absolutely no way those people were far right, in fact- I doubt if there was enough far right in England to simply equate to the number of bodies.

        1. Oro

Well we all know you’re not the most reliable when discussing protests…based on your prophecies about future protests in the US to coincide with the vaccination of under 18s, when they’d already been vaccinating under 12 year olds for weeks previous!

      1. SOQ

Do you check anything other than your monthly Civil Service bank deposit?- Probably not.

  9. Kdoc

They managed to get the Sunday afternoon strollers and the anti-science reiki, aromatherapy and general wellness industry crowd out for that march. Dee, Angela, Graham, Rowan, Spiral et al were either missing in action or edited out.

  10. Daisy Chainsaw

How did the Rally go? Are you going to pretend the social distancing, mask wearing protesters against Belarus tyranny were actually there for de great re-opening?

Or are the rats deserting the sinking ship?
