Nobody asks for a civic reception, it’s offered to you by civic authorities and should be treated as an honour. I was invited to one a few years back as part of a group I volunteer with. Details of the ceremony were recorded in a book dating back centuries, which may not be a big deal to some, but it is to those recieving it.
Just saying that if she didn’t want one she wasn’t “denied” one.
One of those two has done more for this country that the other will ever hope to do. That’s Kellie of course.
