“In July 2017, a number of politicians and political activists including Mick Wallace, Eoin Ó Broin and Clare Daly protested about escalating rents”

Well, at least it isn’t Irish people ripping off their fellow-citizens like this, right?

Ires Reit bought this apartment so they they could get a return on their investment. for pensioners. In ireland pensioners are the most vulnerable in society. But jap/Canadian ones are greedy money grabbers feeding off dublin workers.

    .
if all the citizens wanted to get together and decide to abandon the capital, then rents would plunge. dont see another solution.

The whole country was clamouring for professional landlords in 2012. End single property landlords.

News flash, people have no clue!

No, they were clamouring for a government controlled rental sector. Based on the model that works extremely well throughout Scandinavia and other countries lucky enough to have a properly structured rental system.

That’s a really straightforward way of putting it. It seems like it should work…..that companies couldn’t be the end owner of homes.

But I hear the voice of a government politician telling me that companies are essential for the efficient operation of the market.
