People Before Profit’s Ruth Coppinger has asked Lidl to mask their staff
This is a neglect of public health by @lidl_ireland, not for the first time. It jeopardises their workers and customers. A manager was walking around with mask on chin, so it’s not just at tiles, it’s a culture. We have some of highest Covid rates in country in #dubw. Any wonder.

Harsh.
Or not harsh enough?

Has Ruth actually been to an Aldi or Lidl? In my local ones there are perspex separators between the cashier and customer. And employees on the floor wear masks.
Have there been any outbreaks in any supermarkets thus far in the pandemic? None that I’m aware of.
Even pre-masks I’m not aware of any.
Well ventilated, tall ceilings, and a clientele whose goal is to spend as little time in there as possible – mask or no mask its very low risk
If there is one group after medical staff who have high levels of natural immunity it has to be shop workers, because it is highly likely they have previously been exposed.

Yes, Dunnes in Cornelscourt has had at least two outbreaks.
+1
What is this obsession the left have with those filthy rags?
https://swprs.org/face-masks-evidence/
It’s mystifying.
Because they ultimately want total control of your life. Face nappies allow them to experience that power and they won’t be giving it up anytime soon. Coercion is gained in small acts. They’re absolutely revelling in being able to tell someone to obey them or face ‘consequences’. Of course they’ll never say it to a certain element of our society, as they know what the reaction will be. Here Ruth criticises some of the lowest paid (non pension) front line workers, who’ve done an unreal job for us past two years – not a single day (I think maybe bar Christmas) was lidl closed.. These front line workers came to work everyday. No claps.. No call for bonuses.
Only way we stop wearing the muzzles is through civil disobedience. Fair play to the lidl staff. How many of them have gotten badly sick in past 2 years from covid? They have more direct contact with *higher number* of random individuals in the country than any other profession.
“Only way we stop wearing the muzzles is through civil disobedience. ”
Dress for the world you want. ;-)

How does that work?
that’s why people wear masks you buffoon, to protect these workers from the 100s of customers they have to face everyday.
That’s why it disgusts reasonable people when the likes of Micko parades around his arrogance and his patethic inability to wear a tiny mask for the 5 mins he exposes himself to these workers.
” 5 mins he exposes himself to these workers.”
Ooooh saucy…. tell me more Nilbert
So many spelling mistakes and I thought I was bad.
Depends where you go – some places better than other… but ultimately if you are selfish enough not to wear a mask and don’t care about anybody but yourself… not sure what to do… also, about time we rolled out the FFP2…
Cue Dr. Micko and other freedom fighting anti-muzzle EXPERTS posting links about how masks don’t work…
It’s Prof Micko
Dear Dr ce,
Masks don’t stop covid transmission according to the vast majority of scientific studies and observed real world data. The studies showing they do work fall apart when you review along side the studies showing they don’t work. You can also simply look at high mask wearing countries Vs non mask wearing countries and see no difference.
So we are not being selfish, we are making an informed decision based on the data and scientific evidence. I think it’s selfish to try enforce your bad science and beliefs on others, especially with no cost/benefit analysis available to review and scrutinise.
I just want to stay healthy and I wish everyone would look after their health too so we can live in a happy, healthy society together with no discrimination.
Kind regards,
Cui Bono?
Only a mentalist says ‘masks don’t work’. There are valid questions about their effectiveness though and value vs effect it has on society. Clearly most people don’t wear them properly (grade of mask, air tightness) … Everyone knows the cloth muzzles do absolutely ef all. Yet if you’re making the customary attempt to wear the worst possible mask you have, and play along with the pantomime, you’re seen as a good guy.. Taking part in the attempt to save humanity from a virus so deadly we have to be reminded through constant news fear that it exists. It’s all an illusion. Anyone who wants to wear a mask wear one… Its as easy as that. Leave the rest of us far right knuckle dragging lunatic sociopaths to get on with our lives whilst you live in fear the rest of yours.
hey ce…
that post you did on Tuesday papers with the link to that Moritz lad? thanks pal. y’know I was actually blissfully unaware that this kind of drivel actually made it into the likes of proper booksellers?! the reviews on amazon are astonishing.
Of those in authority, how do you spot the difference between the ones that realise the lack of efficacy for nonpharmaceutical interventions and those still in thrall?
Given our lots track record and backgrounds I suppose we have to assume the majority are credulous, as a subset of the general population, would this be fair?
Apart from the authoritarian leftie thing I’m willing to believe that Ruth might believe actually that these interventions work.
So what else might be going on? This article had a convincing argument / interesting take I thought…

Might check out this Kuhn fella.
For any of the mask / lock-down cheerleaders ( that maybe have a look ) consider the references to actual official government data that point to the lack of efficacy for these measures, can you continue to dismiss these contradictions so readily?
Uh ho…
Some “lowly menial service staff.” getting uppidy again.
Table for two for Ruth and Nilbert.
My local Lidl have the till staff boxed off in fairly robust perspex boxes and all wear masks as well, both on the tills and on the floor?
Same with Tesco and Aldi.
“staff boxed off in fairly robust perspex boxes and all wear masks”
Phew…
Finally some sense.
Did you miss my point?
Not sure..
All I know is that I can’t wait until we all have personal shields like in Dune
https://youtu.be/RkQFhPJuxgk?t=21
THEN we will be safe…
Except for the slow virus
At the moment workers can wear masks if they want but it is their choice. However Ruth stands up for the workers rights by saying their employer should force them to. Bizarre
She’s the face of the modern Irish left.
More authoritarian than any of our government ministers. If this pandemic has been good for anything, it has shown just how little respect for the Irish people these champagne socialists have.
Ah no Null, they’re called Prosecco Socialists these days apparently :0)
True. Although they have to brave the hell scape of Lidl to get their prosecco. How they make it out alive is anyone’s guess.
AKA…
BabySham Bolsheviks.
cava communists
Haha, Daisy, Nigel and Co now in bed with the clown Coppinger. Some bedfellows indeed…

Any vaccine yet for the Coppinger virus?
…take 2 of these and apply as needed.

Ah Ruth, you let the side down, you never blamed this on the patriarchy.
jesus coppinger ,give it a rest.
Meanwhile, the other two heroes have been writing a two-page A4 letter to the Irish Times.
I presume the IT scanning software automatically transcribed it from the original crayon.
