Anna Leporskaya’s ‘Three Figures’ was sent for restoration after a security guard doodled on it with a ballpoint pen on his first day

A bored worker on his first day
Found his conscience beginning to sway
So he drew some eyes, tainting
A valuable painting
For which he was soon sent away

“They say the sign of a good portrait is when the eyes follow you around the room…”

I’ve had the same experience in a potato warehouse …

oh I think it improves it vastly
      and I’m not being smart

      I see a scenario where…
they are travelling on some kind of metaphysical conveyor belt
and the closest lad at the front there has reached the endpoint in the de-personalisation process already
with the pair behind almost there
just the outline of their eyesockets left to go
on their new clean personality-free homogenised heads

we wont need one when we finally finish our race to the bottom

So much ‘art’is so precious and serious I reckon it’s a big improvement. Perhaps it should catch on with pens on twine beside all paintings etc for the public to participate interactively with great works. Provide some transparant film over images so as not to damage them. I this instance it looks funny and changed the vibe completely.
