and yet one of the reasons they now sell their on tap at such a low temperature is because they lowered the quality of ingredients, cheaper hops, when it’s cold enough you can’t taste the difference.
In fairness the Heineken you get in Holland is a different breed of a beer to the insipid skitther you get served here. I suppose it’s like the way Guinness tastes like muck outside of Ireland (thinking of a photo posted here recently of a pint of plain from an Irish pub in Ulan Bator – vom!).
That said – the bottled Helles and assorted other beers imported from Germany or wherever and available here if off-licences are, to a beaded-bubble, mostly delicious.
How come we can’t get the decent Heineken here? Is it to do with brewing licences? That said i’d probably shuffle past it anyway in the “imported” beer aisle.
