‘Terms Of Surrender’

This morning.

Obolon, Ukraine

Via BBC:

Social media videos are showing what appears to be Russian tanks driving through Obolon, an area just north of Kyiv’s city centre.

Just in the past hour, Ukraine’s defence ministry confirmed that Russian forces had infiltrated the residential district.

The videos appear to have been taken by locals in their homes. The BBC has verified that the setting in these videos is Obolon.

Via Russian state-owned RT:

Moscow is willing to negotiate terms of surrender with Kiev regarding the ongoing Russian military offensive currently taking place in Ukraine, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

According to Peskov, Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his preparedness to engage in discussions with his Ukrainian counterpart, with a focus on obtaining a guarantee of neutral status and the promise of no weapons on its territory.

…The press secretary added that Putin would determine the timing of the negotiations, but gave assurances that Russia would only engage “if the leadership of Ukraine is ready to talk about it.”

“The operation has its goals – they must be achieved. The president said that all decisions have been made, and the goals will be achieved,” Peskov continued, suggesting that, if Kiev were to agree to meet the demands, the current military attack on Ukraine could be called off.

Thoughts remain with the innocent civilians on the ground over there.

Initial round of Western sanctions don’t appear to be strong enough going off comments from people with far more knowledge of these things than me.

    1. Trustin Judeau

Sanctions will not get any stronger, because EU is still heavily reliant on Russian oil, gas, grain and rare earth metals

This all happening while Russia holds presidency of the UN Security Council shows yet again how unfit for purpose the entire body is. It’s as useful as a feather in a storm and should be dismantled and rebuilt from the ground up.

      1. Broadbag

Nobody suggested it’s a lie. But it’s peak Russian apologist behaviour to spin a clear act of aggression, war and Russian expansionism as ”it’s the fault of the US”.

Yesterday we had posters (probably just trolls, nobody is that thick) desperately spinning the story that the disputed territories needed protection and it was effectively a Russian rescue mission, despite multiple reports that the entire country of Ukraine was under attack. That pathetic attempt to make Russia the good guy has been abandoned for the farce it was, so today ”it’s the biolabs”.

The undeniable fact that the US and many other countries in the the West are guilty of similarly disgusting acts of war, doesn’t make it any less revolting when Russia does it.

Ah come on, the first two replies clearly implied he’s a bot talking rubbish and no it doesn’t make it any less revolting when Russia does it.

          1. Broadbag

Fair enough. I genuinely read the first reply as ”only a pro-Russian propaganda bot could attempt to disguise war mongering as a defensive move because of some labs”.

Second reply I think is somewhat harsh as Bodger seems quite balanced on this issue so far.

      2. George

I don’t think you read that link, did you?

“The Biological Threat Reduction Program’s priorities in Ukraine are to consolidate and secure pathogens and toxins of security concern and to continue to ensure Ukraine can detect and report outbreaks caused by dangerous pathogens before they pose security or stability threats.”

    1. SOQ

And a number of them have already been bombed apparently. God knows what they housed.

There is nothing like a safe biohazard disposal and that, was nothing like it.

    1. George

Because you said “US bio-warfare labs”, that’s why. The US provided 15million to labs run by Ukraine to support the non-proliferation of weapons.

How much do you think 15million is going to get you if you spent it on “bio-weapons”? Russia spends over 60billion dollars on its military every year.

I am in the process of setting up a go fund me to raise funds for preferably Bodger or Nick Kelly (the BS elite) or maybe someone else on here or in the offices who would be willing to travel to Ukraine and report on all the fake reporting we are already seeing coming out of there in the last 24hrs. Seeing as at this point we all know this is a fake war and none of the footage we are seeing is real, I imagine it should be a fairly relaxing and rewarding trip. Time to take down the legacy media, they got us with the fake pandemic, they wont get us with this fake war.
I will send you on the details later Bodger so you can make it a post, I will leave the suitably snappy headline up to yourself.

Russian State media, western media, and the Ukrainian Government all conspiring to pretend Russia has invaded Ukraine. Amazing.

    1. Broadbag

Yesterday a Russian spokeswoman said the Russian action in Ukraine was not an act of war, then said something like ‘the war is already over.” in the next sentence. The joys of living in a post-truth world.

  5. eamonn

the sad reality as regards what is going on and perhaps more importantly why it is happenning could be that the truth is nowhere to be found.
In the midst of russian untruths, american untruths, european untruths, ukrainian untruths…..where do you find the truth?

    It is out there somewhere.

you just get to pick which lie you are going to believe and invest your belief in that.

apparently Hungary was the other objector to disconnecting the sneaky pigs from SWIFT…shocker

meanwhile the Italians managed to conjure up themselves an exception for the sale of luxury goods?!? tools

  7. SOQ

Sonner or later Ukraine and Russia will come to an agreement over what they can and can’t get up to.

This will involve the at least partial withdrawal of US meddling in the country.

Whiter Zelensky keeps to his word afterwards, is another story.

      1. SOQ

Putin is not the one building US funded bio weapon labs beside the Russian border. None of these characters are trustworthy- such is the nature of international politics.

        1. George

Putin is the one with 6,000 nukes who invaded Ukraine in 2014 and who attempted to assassinate the president of Ukraine in 2004.

There is no risk of an attack on Russia from Ukraine due to Russia having more nuclear warheads than any other country.

What is your source for the claim that there are “bio weapon labs” in Ukraine? Russian state media have made that claim but the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists says this is baseless.
https://thebulletin.org/2022/02/us-official-russian-invasion-of-ukraine-risks-release-of-dangerous-pathogens/ The Nuclear Threat Initiative say the same thing.

Have you found a retired secondary school chemistry teacher on youtube that says otherwise?
