This afternoon.

Via RTE news:

Junior infants  teacher Jennifer Ní Chathaláin can now use facial expressions as well as her voice to teach her class of five and six-year-olds as, for the first time in a long, long time, she no longer has to wear a face mask in class.

“It’s the sense of normality that we have missed,” she told RTÉ News.

“I’m looking forward to being able to sit down and do circle time, with the kids sitting next to them on the carpet and reading a book to them, where they can sit wherever they want. It’s the structure and rigidity of the restrictions that have really been felt.

“Now it feels like it’s just back to normal, the way it should be in a junior infants class, where kids can mix and socialise and they can develop new friendships and they can expand their social networks.

It’s a really positive day today.

Five-year old Seb MacCarthaigh agrees.

“I am really happy because I can hear Múinteor Jennifer’s voice and I can see her face,” he said.

  1. SOQ

They should never have been muzzled in the first place- it was state abuse. And even then, given that they were at the lowest risk of developing serious CoVid-19, they should have had been first to have that stupid rule removed.

The idea that adults could slobber all over each other in a pub but infants could not sit behind a desk made no sense whatsoever.

Of course that is all it was, a rule, or guidance. There was no law and any child or parent was well within their rights to refuse- just like what happened in the north of England.

It is testament to just how far this brainwashed psychosis has gone where students were correctly pointing out the science to the teachers- disgraceful stuff.

Unfortunately, SOQ, teacher training colleges were the low-hanging fruit of third level education & were the first to fall under the spell of Cultural Marxism, during its long march through the institutions. This abuse could easily have been prevented if the teachers & especially, their unions weren’t captured by a dogma that enshrines racism against children based on skin colour & insists on teaching them the irrational, hysterical nonsense they believe in.
There are large numbers of teachers who believe, as Nigel does, that kids should be masked in class for the foreseeable future. They literally hate their charges, just for being what they are.
The conflicts between teachers, now mostly unmarried, childless women, & parents have only just begun & the results will determine much.
I know a few teachers in the UK, they are awful people, dogmatic & not very bright, though obviously they don’t know I feel that way about them & if that political dogmatism isn’t here already, it will be soon.
