Religious school acting the maggot shocker! Send your kids to a proper non-denominational school where they don’t push this pie in the sky stuff…put an end to the tyranny, stop forcing kids to do lent!

I went to a supposed non-denominational school. There was a prayer disguised as a ‘blessing’, confession services, and religion classes, all ruthlessly pushed by the school chaplain. She was an awful yoke, who hounded the kids who didn’t conform to her way of doing things, and only pulled back if the parents stepped in. Absolute joke.

assumption that this crap is harmless or acceptable…it’s not

the whole idea of children doing penance sickens my hoop, it’s sick in the head,
aside from that she equates mask wearing as a penance…. interesting

Yes, it is interesting, Janet, especially if you can see the reality that Woke is the New Religion, though it will prove far more damaging than the old religions, because it’s political & politics has harmed far more people than religions ever did.

        I’d rather none.
Why it has to be either or in your head I don’t know ?
Teachers are not there to teach your kids manners or morality just maths, critical thought, languages, music, the arts, history, geography and science…fupp everything else

Woke is just a hijacked term used by the people who lost their war against political correctness.

George is dead. Whatever he thought and said doesn’t matter any more.

            He got cancelled, big time.

“ Whatever he thought and said doesn’t matter any more.”

Cool. Let Sun Tzu, Voltaire, Oscar Wilde, Aristotle, Plato, Einstein and the rest of our great dead thinkers know will ya…

          3. Fearganainm

What percentage of the global population do you think reach for the works of any of those dead guys (Five Whiteys and an Asian) every day?

They’re dead. They’re not leadership material. They’re just in the pick and mix nibbles section now.

          4. Fearganainm

No, cultural capital changes over time and place. Sun Tzu might be read in military academies the world over, Plato and Aristotle still get a nod in politics/philosophy studies, ditto Einstein and science. Voltaire endures but has become more niche and Oscar will always have his fans but isn’t a global hit. Frantz Fanon is likely bigger in Africa than any of them and Margaret Atwood probably has a wider contemporary readership than most or all of of them too. There will be large parts of the world where they are largely unknown and irrelevant.

It’s a long race, the human race, and the drop out rate is high. Carlin will be, at best, a very niche interest in years to come.

Bet they have nom problem celebrating Christmas or Easter though? And have their kids make their communion and confo? The bang of hypocracy is startling.

Personally i prefer to wrap metal chains around my shoulders and torso, wear a razor-wire crown atop my head and flagellate myself with a cat o’ nine tails.

    (crosses legs).

Sorry Broadbag? You having a laugh? The more “progressive” a school is, the more likely it is to be wedded to the lunatic Covid narrative. The replacement of Old Wisdom with New Wisdom, of Old Religions with New Religions, of old stupidities with new, now that’s a Fool’s Errand.

  6. MacGafraidh

    Completely Reasonable.

In my work environment cases have increased again on the back of a reduction in cases. It goes hand in hand.
