Sorry Not Sorry

at

Last night.

Washington DC, USA

US President Joe Biden stood by his belief that Vladimir Putin should not be president of Russia, telling reporters that he made “no apologies” for his unscripted remarks.

Via Huffington Post:

“I’m not walking anything back,” the president said..

I was expressing moral outrage, and I make no apologies,” he added.

Speaking in Poland at the end of his four-day trip to Europe on Sunday, Biden said of Putin, “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power.”

The line came at the end of a 27-minute speech and was ad-libbed by a president famous for doing so.

Being Italian, Leon Panetta says ‘mamma mia’ a lot, constantly get’s sauce on his pristine white short and is a member of an organised crime family, I’m thinking the Ndrangheta?

  2. Dr.Fart

he’s dead right. its not like Putin deserves respect, he’s murdering thousands of innocent people. suggesting he shouldn’t be in power is pretty minuscule.

Putin is the ultimate snowflake (although Donald Trump and Xi Jinping are close runners up), suggest he be taken out and he poops his pants and smears it all over himself while crying uncontrollably.

Because he knows Biden has said aloud what many in Russia and across the world are thinking.

He has zero right to run Russia but being a small little bully, he hates to hear that which he fears most.

I do hope they do not do a Ceausescu on him, too fast. A gut shot that takes at least 24 would be preferable.

My goodness, Ian, that’s a strict line you’re taking on Snowflakes, there. You’ll end up self-harming.
If I was to arrange for a Putin lookielikey to do the naked poo-dance you fantasise about, how much would you be willing to pay? You can watch it in privacy, so you can give yourself a happy ending, if you so desire.

Biden’s gaffe was that he said the ‘quiet part loud’ so to speak. The reality is that US policy has never been centred on the best interests of the Ukrainian people. On the contrary, the US are intent on using Ukraine as a battering ram with which to try and destabilise Russia in yet another regime change proxy war

As journalist Aaron Mate explains in his article:

‘Biden’s declaration that Putin “cannot remain in power” was not an error, but a clear expression of entrenched US policy: using Ukraine for a proxy war against Russia.’

      https://mate.substack.com/p/urging-regime-change-in-russia-biden?s=r

Seems to me that it would be very naive to think that if Russia is forcibly destabilised to the point at which Putin is ousted, that the aftermath would result in a safer and more stable geopolitical situation.

      1. Nigel

Reading a lot of preconceived notions into one gaffe that’s more likely a reference to Putin’s appaling actions. The US can’t possibly be using Ukraine in a proxy war – Russia STARTED the war. Once again your western-centric view completely sidelines the actual actors involved.

And the fact that a Russian civil war would be a catastrophe is exactly why it was a gaffe rather than a ‘clear expression.’

        1. K.Cavan

Aaaaand, here’s Nigel, with the views of the Clownworld political elite on the subject!

“Once again your western-centric view completely sidelines the actual actors involved.”

I think you’re getting this press conference muxed ip with the Oscars, Nigel.
Has flawless sidelined actors before with his Western-centric views? Are you special, Nigel, not hampered by being Western-centric in your views? Course not, you have your very own Clownworld-centric views.

          1. f_lawless

Has to be said though, your comment makes you look a bit of an eejit.
“Reading a lot of preconceived notions into one gaffe”.

The article I linked to points out that the US President’s gaffe is just the latest incident in a long list of actions and statements by various US war hawks which have demonstrated a collective intent to escalate the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and to sabotage peace agreements. You’re not informed on the subject, didn’t read the article, yet feel compelled to go on the attack.

“The US can’t possibly be using Ukraine in a proxy war – Russia STARTED the war.”

Your statement shows a complete lack of historical perspective. The proxy war between the US and Russia has been going on at Russia’s borders for several years. Russia decided to escalate it in Feb 2022 and for years, the US had been increasingly provoking them. The bombing of ethnic Russian civilians in Ukraine had been going on for the last 8 years or so – it’s just that western corporate media had been giving it relatively little attention.

          2. Nigel

Amazing that you leave out the Russian approach to peace agreements which involves sending in those mercenaries and gangsters to create the conflicts in the so-called breakaway areas, to say nothing of previous invasions. Almost as if Russia is the warmonger here constantly pushing until Putin may have pushed too hard and possibly overreached militarily but you’re fixated blaming Biden.

    3. K.Cavan

How the hell does Putin do it, eh? Mr Fart. Sneaking around at night, murdering people, then running one of the world’s largest countries during the day.
      Bet he has three Weetabix.

  3. stephen moran

Sure why not blame the myriad of woes afflicting the blundering charlatan grifter de Pfeffel Johnson on Ali Kemal and Turkey whilst were at it (though that wasn’t on the side of the bus)

    1. SOQ

And yet his popularity has jumped another 10% to 70?

When did Biden ever get even close to such figures?

      1. scottser

funny that, i just manufactured my own poll too and guess what? 112% of the people i ‘polled’ think i’m just brilliant.

        1. f_lawless

Have you looked in to it?

Noah Buckley, political scientist, Trinity College Dublin:

“Since his ascension to power in 2000, Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, has maintained levels of approval among the Russian public that would be the envy of most world leaders. Prior to the recent invasion of Ukraine, Putin’s approval rating stood at 71%, according to an independent pollster(link to source). Contrary to widespread belief, research has found that this support is not a fiction or an artifact(link to source) of massaged polling numbers. “

          1. scottser

putin appeals to a certain age and plays the nostalgia card very well. who’d of thunk a pack of lies, a three-word slogan and a neck like a jockey’s bahoollox could yield an 80 seat majority for the fat tan spaffer? or a victory for the yank orange dildo? they both used putin’s playbook to the letter.

          2. SOQ

Summary: 100 million Russians who disagree with my assessment of their leader are stupid- because I obviously know better.

          3. Nigel

It’s odd how you guys rail against the effects of the MSM in the west but the possibility that state propaganda might play a role in this kind of poll result never enters your tiny little brains.

          4. SOQ

Well I suppose its not odd how after two years of being blatantly lied too- you still champion your masters voice- then again that is what you are paid to do eh?

            You are English Nigel?

          5. Nigel

Ah, more of those personal attacks you hate so much. What do you suppose state propaganda is like in Russia, SOQ?

          6. TenPin Terry

‘ You are English Nigel? ‘
Ultimately the anglophobia always rears its ugly head.
            Always.

          7. K.Cavan

Hey, scottser, have you a copy of “Putin’s Playbook” & “Trump’s Playbook”? And it turns out they’re exactly the same?
I reckon you should go back to that Playbook shop & demand a refund, they’re playing you.

          8. K.Cavan

Nigel, I reckon State propaganda is exactly the same in Russia as it is here. What’s your point?

          9. SOQ

Not at all. I am merely asking a question- his phrasing would suggest so is all.

            Defensive much?

          10. Nigel

Cavan – yes, you would, you lie as much as Russian media does.

‘I am merely asking a question’

Asked and answered before, when I perhaps thought there was still some good faith in you.

      2. K.Cavan

Biden has difficulty with words, SOQ, best keep him as far as possible away from figures.

  5. bisted

…in fairness, there could be something in the Irish jibe…regime change seems to be top of the Biden/O’Bama arsenal but not even an option for the Repulicans…

  6. GiggidyGoo

But sure aren’t most American presidents Irish? The O’Bama fellow, Kennedy, Clinton, Regan, etc.

    1. stephen moran

In addition the following US Presidents have Ulster / Scottish / Irish Ancestry
      Andrew Jackson, 7th President, 1829–1837
James Knox Polk, 11th President, 1845–1849
      James Buchanan, 15th President, 1857–1861
      Andrew Johnson, 17th President, 1865–1869
      Ulysses S. Grant, 18th President, 1869–1877
Chester Alan Arthur, 21st President, 1881–1885
      Grover Cleveland, 22nd & 24th President, 1885–9 & 1893–7

      George Bush, 41st President, 1989–1993

  7. Verbatim

They’re trying their damnedest to bring the Irish into this conflict.
So glad we are talking army-talk – we need to protect ourselves from this kind of denigration, moral outrage indeed!

    1. K.Cavan

The Irish Army are about to enter the fight, armed with hurleys, they’ll be following Biden’s instructions to the letter & should arrive in Afghanistan or Iraq or wherever, any day now.
Biden did actually, almost say Afghanistan, during that press conference but the drugs appeared to be working & he said almost everything Obama told him to, even without understanding a single syllable, himself.

      1. SOQ

Armed with Hurleys is probably more than those English idiots arrived with? They then sat on their phones on the internet and were subsequently air bombed by the Russians. The first rule in a combat zone is to maintain comms silence?

I sort of feel sorry for the families, but anyone who heads off to join a foreign war with no experience was, or is, hardly the sharpest knife in the drawer.
