Irish Life workers hold a protest outside Irish Life’s headquarters on Abbey Street Lower, Dublin 1.
It follows the company’s decision to close two defined-benefit pension schemes from June 30.

I’m working up the street and their choice of strike music is brutal!
Abba?
All power to the workers.
They’re being offered 19% DC pension scheme. Unheard of in modern Ireland and probably the biggest contribution to a DC scheme by any employer in Ireland.
Also, they’re closing the pension scheme to Accruals which is not closing it. They closed the DB pension to new people 12 years ago. The unions or current staff didn’t object to them.
A joke of a strike.
