You’re Not Singing Anymore

at

This afternoon

Via The UK Sun:

Broadcasters have now received private assurances from Government that pubs will be allowed to show the matches, but it must be kept quiet.

A Government insider said: “Pubs and bars can show live sport but shouting and/or chanting is not permitted for the same reason that live music isn’t.

Um.

Sssh.

Sorry.

Sssh.

Name that match (above), anyone?

Quietly please.

Earlier: A Limerick A Day

Pubs CAN show the footie from ‘Super Saturday’ – but sound must be turned down and strictly no chanting (The Sun)

Jeez, Brother you’re struggling at the moment.
You’re like a tailor looking for a one-legged man to sell him a suit.
You’ve run out of new material.

you’re quite right, charger – forgive me

in my defence, its 37 degrees and I’ve only half-emerged from my post-prandial slumber

hung my hammock among the carob trees – it’s even nicer than I’d hoped

            how’s limerick?

            Aw,sweet.
But sad at the same time.
Lying on a hammock in the sun and still pining for home.
Factor up mind you.It can’t be fun being a ginger wearing a polyster GAA top in 37 degrees.

            heh heh heh

it’s a cooler 33 now ~ might wander down to the village; important for a blow-in to show his face time to time, support the local economy etc

    He’s right 90.
A Spurs man through and through for my sins.
    Fill your boots.

      my boots are full,
unlike a certain trophy cabinet ;)

Did the trial circuit around London clubs in the mid 80’s,
stayed in Highbury Barn for 6 months.
What a time to be in London with free tickets to any game.
Admission was only £5 mind you.

  2. Fellow

Paying sky sports over €6000.00 per year for showing matches in pubs that can only seat a quarter of what would be the crowd pre covid is a luxury pubs cannot afford

To be honest all the fun taken out by covid 19 has put paid to he Irish pub

Next year if we are lucky there might
Be just one pub in ten open as for rural Ireland I doubt there will be a toilet open
