Images of flowers taken by photographer Craig Burrows using a relatively unknown process known as UVIVF (ultra violet induced visible fluorescence).
Burrows illuminates the flowers with a high intensity LED filtered to transmit only UV and infrared which the plants absorb, releasing visible light in the form of vivid colours not perceptible under normal viewing conditions.

A spectacular close up of a Fiery Throated Hummingbird taken by Canadian photographer Jess Findlay in the Talamanca Mountains of Costa Rica.Sez he:
Several of these hummingbirds were visiting a nectar feeder. As they fed hungrily, often quarrelling with one another, occasionally one would get displaced onto a nearby branch. I waited by the branch for a couple hours, staying very still. I used a telephoto lens with a special attachment that allowed me to focus on close subjects. What made this a challenge was how fidgety these birds can be and the fact that the full spectrum of colour is only seen when they pause at a very specific angle.
